We understand that you're experiencing concerns with one of your apartment mates and seeking peace and protection. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is your ultimate protector and provider of peace. As it says in Psalm 4:8, "I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Lord, alone make me live in safety."
We must also address that the Bible tells us to live in peace with everyone as far as it depends on us. Romans 12:18 says "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." This means we should strive to maintain peaceful relationships, but also understand that we cannot control the actions of others. We should forgive and show grace.
We will pray for your protection. Your apartment should be a place of rest and security. We will also pray that God will soften your roommate's heart so that you can live in peace. We must remember that God desires us to pray for those who may be against us.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before you in Jesus' name to lift up our brother who is experiencing turmoil at home. We pray for your protection as the scriptures say, 'No weapon that is formed against you will prosper' (Isaiah 54:17). We ask that you will establish peace in the home. We pray that their apartment mate, who is a child of God made in his image, will be convicted by your Holy Spirit and turn from any wrongdoing.
We also pray that you will guide them in all wisdom and discretion as to how to respond to this situation. We pray that you will give them the strength to forgive and show grace as you have shown us. We pray against any retaliation because we know that you will handle the situation in your divine justice.
Lastly, Father, we pray that you turn this situation into an opportunity for them to be a light in the darkness and a testimony of your goodness. We pray that this person may come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, the only name by which we can be saved. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, if the situation escalates, remember that God has also established authorities to maintain order and they should not hesitate to contact them if there is a threat of physical harm.
