We thank IJNA for the prayer request and stand with Powers in prayer for the relationship with son S. It's wonderful and pleasing, to see a heart's desire to grow spiritually together in Christ. God's will is for us to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord so let us embrace that calling and understand the mission.
Ephesians 6:4 WEB
:4 "Fathers, don’t provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
We pray together in one accord. Father, we come boldly before Your throne of grace, IJNA, and ask for Your guidance and wisdom for Powers as they nurture and guide their son, S. May this relationship be rooted in Your love, wisdom, and understanding. Let each interaction reflect Christ to glorify God. Help them grow together in faith, and may S. see the love of Christ through Powers. Thank the Lord for His patience, forgiveness, and care. Pour this out on the requestor and S. Of special note is the mention and use of IJNA (In Jesus Name Amen or at least close to that) by Powers. We acknowledge Him and His Name. Jesus is our only way to God. We further thank Him for His shed blood on the cruel cross of Calvary for our salvation. Romans 5:8 WEB :8 "But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Let Powers continue to reside in Him and His gracious sacrifice. Continue to lift up and live in Him. Colossians 2:6 WEB :6 "As therefore you received Christ Jesus, the Lord, walk in him,"
We admonish Powers to remember and share the gospel with S and others, it is the power of God unto salvation.
Romans 1:16 WEB:
:16 "For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek."
As we continue to pray for their spiritual growth, let us remember that raising S., or any of our children, must be done according His will, and His way. He has provided the wisdom for this in His sacred word as noted. It is often that children will rebel from God and parents. They too must have faith and we cannot decide or negotiate this with them directly. If you have not already SPD (Spare the rod) them and show them right from wrong. This includes proper discipline and correction for wrong behavior. Be diligent because they will reflect you, your faith, and your parenting skills. Know God is in control, and whatever happens, seek Him. Let us further pray for all single parents. The job is hard, the work is much, and the personal time is little. But God!!
Galations 6:9 WEB: :9 "Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."
In bringing this before the Father we know we always have a holy counselor who loves as an advocate,
I John 2:1 WEB:
:1 "My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous."
May God continually strengthen both Powers and S as they continue this journey to eternity together.
