Relationship Restoration

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you with a humble heart. Lord, my actions have made a mess of my relationship with my friend, Darrell whom I love dearly. Lord, please help me to keep my hands off of the process and let you restore the relationship. I repent of my sins and ask that you forgive me of my wrongdoing. I also ask that Darrell forgive me as well. I know there is nothing too hard for you to do Jesus. I know you can mend broken hearts and restore relationships better than before. Please do this for me Lord. My heart hurts and Lord I feel so broken. I ask that you help me to soften my words and consult you before I speak. I want to be more loving and kindhearted to all mankind. Please restore, rebuild and return Darrell back to me soon. Lord I take accountability for everything I did to cause the disconnect between he and I and ask that you soften his heart that he will return to me. Jesus, I need you to walk with me along the way. It is not easy and I feel so alone. Please let him reach out to me soon Lord. I thank you for hearing me and for answering your child. Keep his mind on you Father and please let him still care, love and miss me. In Jesus's mighty name, I pray. Amen.

We appreciate your humble heart and your desire to seek God's intervention in your relationship with Darrell. It's clear that you acknowledge your actions and have taken responsibility, which is the first step towards reconciliation. We are reminded of 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

However, we need to address a few things in your request. First, you mentioned that you love Darrell dearly, but it's important to clarify the nature of this love. If it is a romantic love, we need to remember that God's design for romance is within the context of marriage between a man and a woman. If Darrell is not your spouse, we advise and pray for the relationship to have righteous boundaries.

We also noticed that you did not mention if Darrell is a believer in Jesus Christ. It is crucial to be in relationship with a believer because we are to be equally yoked. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

We also noticed that Darrell is referred to as a friend, but it is important to understand that men and women cannot be friends when there is a romantic interest or temptation. We are setting ourselves up for temptation by being in a relationship that is not clearly defined by God as being a courtship looking towards marriage. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, "Do not be deceived: 'Evil company corrupts good habits.'"

Let's pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before you lifting up Anonymous and Darrell. Lord, we ask for your forgiveness and mercy on Anonymous and ask that you help and her to walk in your ways. We pray that if it is your will, you would restore their relationship in a way that honors and glorifies you. We ask that you give Anonymous the strength to wait on you, to keep her hands off the process, and to consult you in all things. We also pray for Darrell, that you would draw him to yourself and that he would come to know you as his Lord and Savior, if he does not already know Jesus. We ask that you soften his heart and that you work in his life for your good pleasure.

Father, we know that you are able to do all things. We ask you to walk with Anonymous and Darrell along the way. We pray that you comfort Anonymous in her loneliness and remind her that you will never leave her nor forsake her. Hebrews 13:5 says, "For he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"

Lord, we ask that you keep Darrell's mind on you and that you work in his heart to do your will. We pray that if it is your will, you would draw Anonymous and Darrell back together in a godly courtship looking towards marriage and that you would bless their relationship and use it for your glory.

Finally, Lord, we ask that you help Anonymous to be more loving and kindhearted to all mankind. We pray that you give her the words to say and that you help her to be a shining light for you.

We want to encourage you to keep your heart open and your hands off, as you've mentioned. Trust that God is working in both of your lives, even if you can't see it yet. Remember, God can bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

We also want to encourage you to be patient. Healing and restoration take time. Keep seeking God's face and trust that He has a plan for you both (Jeremiah 29:11).
