Disciple of Prayer
Please pray in agreement with me as I continue Praying over my daughter Hannah for a sudden and abundant restoration of her relationship with Caleb. Praying that lines of communication will return. Praying that they will be filled with the Holy Spirit and all stubbornness, hurt, anger, resentment and unforgiveness be bound and removed. Praying that God will close all doors that need to be closed and open those that need to be opened, leading to complete healing of their hearts and a second chance to have a lifelong, God-centered relationship. In Jesus name!
As scripture tells us that God created relationships and desires to heal and restore relationships that are broken, we have been confidently and faithfully believing in those promises.
Things are not going well. Caleb is still not speaking to Hannah and has recently started seeing someone else. Hannah is feeling quite abandoned by God, doubting the power of our prayers, the faithfulness of God's promises and even His love for her. I am struggling as well and have not been able to pray. I had been praying boldly, fasting, asking others to pray with us, spoken many verses of scripture out loud (verses of restoration, healing, faith, prayers, etc...) and was so confident of the strength of what God was doing for them and through them, that I feel like I caused Hannah more pain by driving her hopes up, only for both of us to be let down. I will not comfort her with the platitudes that I hear so often. So many Christians seem to have an "oh well, it wasn't meant to be" attitude pushing faith and hope aside so easily, while I was bursting with a confidence that was indescribable.
I hope people continue praying for them, as Hannah and I are not able to right now. We have been praying in agreement with others as Matt 18:19 tells us to, for over a year. I would love to see a miracle shine through the brokenness that I feel. I need to witness John 14:13-14 and 1Peter 5:10 and know that when I prayed and thought I heard "God brought them together once, He'll do it again"... and more recently "give it time"... that was the Holy Spirit and not just my imagination! I want to shout from the mountains what God has done for their relationship, but I haven't seen it yet. I want to know that scripture is total truth and living words of promises, not just words. When Jesus says "I tell you the truth..." in John 16:23, and with our obedience John 15:7, 1John 3:21-23, God is faithful. I need to know that it is truth, not merely written for passive comfort.
