We understand that you're going through a difficult time in your relationship, Sharifah, and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. However, we need to address some issues in your request. Firstly, we're thankful that you ended your request with 'in Jesus Name' as it is only by His name that we are saved and it is in His name that our prayers are heard by God. John 14:6 WEB Jesus said 'I AM the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.' Jesus Christ specifically. So, we encourage you to continue to acknowledge the name of Jesus in your prayers.
However, it's important to align your desires with God's will and to seek Him first. More than anything, God knows what you need in your life. More important than texting or talking with Nicolas, God wants a deep and abiding relationship with you. In Psalm 37:4, WEB 'Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and He will give you the desires of your heart.' It's good to ask in prayer, but make sure your asking aligns with God's will. Our minds are completely set on our relationship with God and our inheritance in heaven, so we should ask with that eternal perspective in mind. Colossians 3:2-3 WEB says 'Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.'
Regarding your relationship, it's crucial to ensure that it aligns with biblical principles. As believers, we should engage in relationships with the intent of preparing for godly marriages with other believers. 1 Corinthians 7:39 WEB says 'A wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if her husband is dead, she is free to be married to whomever she wants to, only in the Lord.' Plainly, this also refers to husbands also. We should never be unequally yoked with unbelievers, as it leads to compromises in our faith. We are called to live differently, as referenced in 1 Peter 2:9,11 WEB '9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light; 11 Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.'
If Nicolas is not seeking God first and not living according to His Word, it's important to reevaluate the relationship and seek God's will for your life. Pray for Nicolas if he is not a believer, that his heart may be drawn to Christ. 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB 'Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?'
Instead of focusing on immediate communication and being together, pray for God's guidance and for Him to prepare both of you, individually, for the future He has for you. If it's His will for you to be together, trust that He will make a way. If he does not know Jesus Christ, then you will need to pray for him to be saved or let go of him for your own eternal relationship with God. 2 Corinthians 6:17 WEB 'Therefore come out from among them, and be separate', says the Lord, Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you. 18 I will be to you a Father. You will be to me sons and daughters', says the Lord Almighty.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You lifting up Sharifah. We pray that You guide her in her relationship and give her the wisdom and discernment to know Your will. Help her to seek You first and to delight in You, knowing that You will give her the desires of her heart. We also pray for Nicolas Johnson, that You draw his heart and would trust Jesus Christ, that this relationship will glorify You. If they are not equally yoked, then we pray for Sharifah to be separated. We are asking this in Jesus name, Amen.
Lastly, know that God loves you deeply and has a plan for your life. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths.
