We are grateful for your prayer request and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God's will for your relationship. It is wonderful to see that you are committed to keeping God at the center of your relationship and that you are both Christians waiting for marriage. We also commend the use of 1 Corinthians 13 and praying to the Lord Jesus for your relationship. We are blessed to be a blessing and pray that God will bless you as well.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this relationship to you. We thank you for the love that you have bestowed upon them, and we pray that their love for each other will continue to reflect your perfect love, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Father, we pray for grace to continue walking in purity as they wait for the holy union of marriage. We know that your word tells us to flee sexual immorality, and we ask for strength and self-control to resist temptation, as you have provided a way of escape, 1 Corinthians 10:13.
We pray against all overthinking, fear of the future, anxiety, negative thoughts, and self-sabotage. We ask that you, Lord, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, granting them your peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7.
We ask for grace to fully surrender their timelines to you, Lord, trusting in your perfect plan for their lives. We pray for protection against any attacks that may come against their relationship, knowing that you are faithful to keep what we have committed to you until that Day 2 Timothy 1:12.
We pray that their relationship will nurture your purpose and calling for their lives, and that they may live worthy of the calling they have received, Ephesians 4:1.
Lord, we ask for grace to endure the geographical distance between them, and for grace to glorify you in all their conversations. May their words be pleasing to you, Lord, and may they speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in their hearts to you Ephesians 5:19.
We ask this all in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is in His name that we pray, Amen.
We encourage both of you to continue to walk in purity and holiness, honoring God and each other in your relationship. Remember that God's design for intimacy is within the bounds of marriage, and that sexual immorality is a sin against your own body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:18-19.
We also encourage you to continue to keep God at the center of your relationship, seeking His will and His glory in all that you do. Remember that true love is patient, kind, and selfless, as described in 1 Corinthians 13.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. Trust in His perfect plan for your lives, and know that He is faithful to complete the good work that He has started in you Philippians 1:6.
Stand strong in the Lord, and may His grace and peace be with you both.
