Methtaneareth

Disciple of Prayer
Me and my family were completely out of groceries so when I went to the store to buy some food I told my friend I'll be back. She was cooking dinner for us and when I got back to my friend's place she got mad at me and said for me to not do that again to take off and for me to buy groceries for my family because she weirdly thinks I was rude leaving so I could buy much needed groceries for my family. My friend really broke my heart when she said that.

Methtaneareth, we understand your disappointment and hurt in this situation. It's important to remember that "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." (Proverbs 17:17 WEB)

Firstly, let's address your friend's reaction. It seems she may have misunderstood your intentions or communicated her feelings poorly. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB) It's crucial to forgive her and try to understand her perspective, even if her response was unwarranted.

However, it's also important to communicate openly with her about how her words made you feel. "Moreover if your brother commits a trespass against you, go, confront him between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother." (Matthew 18:15 WEB)

Regarding your commitment to your family, you were right in prioritizing their needs. "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." (1 Timothy 5:8 WEB)

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, seeking Your guidance and healing in this situation. We pray that You would mend the hurt that ### feels and help her friend to understand the importance of family responsibilities. Please grant them both hearts of forgiveness and understanding, and help them to communicate openly and lovingly. We ask that their friendship would be strengthened through this, and that they would both grow closer to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, we noticed that your request doesn't mention Jesus Christ directly. We believe that it's only through His name that we can approach God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) If you haven't already, consider accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, for "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:13 WEB)

We're here with you, ###, feeling your disappointment and hurt. It's tough when friends misunderstand us, but remember, "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." (Proverbs 17:17)

We've been thinking about your situation, and we believe it's important to approach your friend with love and understanding. It seems she might have misinterpreted your actions or expressed her feelings in a way that didn't come across well. Let's strive to be kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving, just as God forgave us in Christ (Ephesians 4:31-32).

We encourage you to talk openly with her about how her words affected you. As it says in Matthew 18:15, "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone." This isn't about winning an argument, but about understanding and healing.

You did the right thing by prioritizing your family's needs. As 1 Timothy 5:8 reminds us, "But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, seeking Your guidance and healing in this situation. We're here for you, ###. Let's walk through this together, trusting in God's love and guidance.
