Thank you, for your prayer request concerning the relationship of ### and ###. We join with you in prayer and offer some biblical insights to encourage and guide them.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as this is the only way we can approach God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" And as it says in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
We pray that ### and ### will put God at the center of their relationship, seeking His will for their lives together. A strong marriage is one that is built on the foundation of God's love and His principles found in Ephesians 5:21-33 WEB:
"Being subject to one another in the fear of Christ.
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being Himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. 'For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.' This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
We pray that ### and ### will be amazing spouses to each other, not just partners. A spouse is someone who is joined to another in marriage for the rest of their lives. Nourishing and cherishing each other as Christ does for the church. This is the kind of relationship God desires for them and from which blessings flow.
Regarding healing, we pray that God will bring physical, emotional, and spiritual healing into their lives and relationship. As it says in 3 John 1:2 WEB: "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers." We pray for their home to be filled with love, laughter, understanding, and forgiveness, as these are all essential elements of a godly marriage.
### and ### should also remember the importance of forgiveness in their marriage, as outlined in Ephesians 4:32 WEB: "Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
We pray that ### and ### will be a light to the world, reflecting the love of Christ in their marriage. That through their relationship, others may see the power of God's love and be drawn to Him.
Matthew 5:16 WEB: "Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
Finally, we pray that ### and ### will remain faithful to each other and to God, fleeing from sexual immorality and other sins that can harm their relationship. As 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB: "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."
So let them not be tempted by the world's view of love and marriage, but rather they should heed the warning of 1 Corinthians 10:12 WEB: "Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful lest he fall."
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we lift up ### and ### to You, asking for Your blessing and guidance in their marriage. Help them to be the spouses You have called them to be, loving and respecting each other as You have commanded. Bring healing and wholeness into their lives, and help them to be a light to the world. Keep them from temptation and help them to flee from sin. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
