We are truly sorrowful to hear about the pain and heartache you are experiencing, and we want to address this situation with compassion and truth based on biblical principles. First, we want to acknowledge that the relationship you've described is not aligned with God's design for several reasons.
The Bible tells us to flee from sexual immorality and any appearance of immorality or sin. Engaging in a secret relationship with a pastor, who is supposed to be a spiritual leader and example, is not honoring to God and can lead would-be Christian Believers to question the sincerity of the Church as a whole. Moreover, the fact that he is leaving you to marry another due to family pressure suggests a lack of integrity and commitment. This individual is already planning a marriage with someone else after a courtship or relationship. Scripture warns us not to act immorally because we are members of Christ's body in 1 Corinthians 6:15 WEB. 'Do you know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!' and in Galatians 5:19 WEB, 'They are sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Lord%u2019s Kingdom'; and again in Colossians 3:5 WEB, Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; We are temples of the Holy Spirit and should not engage in practices that defile our bodies or God's holy temple.
Additionally, praying for a Godly marriage to be canceled is not in accordance with God's will. Marriage is a sacred and holy covenant, if accepted and made in a godly way according to biblical principles and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If this woman loves the soon to be married pastor and he loves her, it is better for everyone if they complete the holy ceremony and this marriage be completed according to God's holy design and command. We should pray for God's will to be done in all circumstances, even if it's painful for us. Therefore, we should not advise anyone to pray for an action that is not aligned with God's Word and biblical principles. The Bible teaches that a person who loves and abides in Christ seeks the well-being of others; it is selfish and contrary to God's will to pray for a marriage to be canceled for one's own benefit. We should want the best for others and trust that God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives. In Ephesians 4:32 WEB, 'Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you' and in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB, 'Love is patient and is kind; love doesn%u2019t envy. Love doesn%u2019t brag, is not proud, doesn%u2019t behave itself inappropriately, doesn%u2019t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn%u2019t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.'
Furthermore, it's crucial to understand that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by Jesus that we can be saved. John 14:6 WEB: 'Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."' This means that prayers should be directed to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, not in the name of any other person or entity, per the Holy Gospel.
In light of these truths from the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ please pray to God along these lines instead of a more selfish desire:
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, we lift up the situation and pray for your will to be done in the lives of all involved. We pray for healing and restoration for the individuals directly affected by this situation. We ask for your guidance and direction for all involved, regardless of whether the relationship was a positive thing or not. We pray that everyone will seek you, be positive, and be a benefit to the world and our relationship with you. We pray for the pastor and everyone involved, that you would give them strength and wisdom to lead and live in a manner that honors you and the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be pleasing to You. We ask that you would surround them with godly counsel and accountability. We pray for the woman who is preparing for marriage, that you would bless her and give her peace and assurance in this time.
Father, we also pray for the one who submitted this request, that you would heal their broken heart and help them to move forward in your will. We pray that you would reveal to them your purpose and plan for their life through the Holy Spirit. We ask that you would help them to seek you first and to trust in your goodness and faithfulness. We pray that you would bring godly individuals into their life to support and encourage them, people who would help them to know how they need to live to be pleasing to You. We ask that you would help them to forgive those who have hurt them and to walk in love and obedience to your Word.
In all things regarding the salvation of the souls of living saints, we ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and for his sake. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you and also hold you accountable in your Christian journey, including Biblical advice and discussions. Remember that God loves you deeply and has a purpose and plan for your life. Trust in Him, and seek Him with all your heart. If someone discourages you from submitting to the will of God or His commandments, Jesus Christ, or the Gospel by the words used, their tone of voice, or a naysaying rebuke; please discard and ignore these as Satan uses direct means to accomplish his goals. Very often on the other hand, God uses gentle means such as encouragement and guidance. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are the most positive things for you and for your friends and family.
