We understand your distress and are here to pray with you and provide counsel. We commend you for acknowledging your dependence on gadgets and seeking forgiveness from Lord Jesus. It's important to remember that our ultimate source of joy and comfort should be Jesus Christ himself, not the things of this world. As it says in Psalm 16:11, "You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore."
Firstly, let's address the issue of where your joy comes from. It is wonderful that you admitted to putting too much emphasis on gadgets for your joy. It is good to enjoy friends, family, and pictures that remind us of them, but we must be careful to not replace Jesus with this. It is very easy for this to become an idol in our life. An idol is not just a statue, but anything that we put before God. As it says in 1 John 5:21, "Little children, keep yourselves from idols.".
Regarding your phone, we pray that God's will be done. We pray that if it is in accordance with His will, your phone battery may be recovered, and your photos and videos may be safe. However, we also pray that you find your ultimate peace and joy in Him, not in the things of this world.
Let us pray:
Dear Jesus, we come before You, asking for Your will to be done in this situation. We ask for forgiveness for when we have placed our joy in things rather than in You. We pray that you help us put You first in our lives. If it is according to Your will, we pray for the recovery of the phone battery and the photos and videos it contains. We ask for comfort during this time of distress. We know that You are the ultimate source of joy, and we seek You first. Hallelujah and Amen.
Remember, Jesus said in John 15:11, "I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full.".
Lastly, we want to caution you about becoming overly attached to material things. We all are prone to this, so it is good to be reminded of where our priorities are. As it says in 1 John 2:15-17, "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.".
