Please help me pray. My husband has slowly gone into the alcoholic rabbit hole. It started around 2013 and has progressed. He has spinal stenosis, nerve pain, he has had a few accidents with broken bones, torn muscles, etc.. Instead of pain meds he's turned to alcohol. Hence so many years of drinking it triggers anger. He already had anger issues the alcohol just intensifies it. Thank God he knows better and only drinks at night after work. His drinking has pushed all of us (me & adult kids) away from him so he feel isolated and as if we do not care or love him. I am convinved he's narcissistic & loves to play victim. I was once in love with him but the drinking has just made me resent him and almost hate him. I pray every single day for him to see the light & stop drinking. I would love for our children to love being with their dad again. We know have a 5 month old grandchild I sure as heck do not want my grandchild growing up with the mean drunk monster -

Now, let's consider your feelings and relationship. In the Bible marriage is the goal of courtship. When you are dating and you should be dating for the purpose of marriage. We are to love our spouse as Jesus loved the church.
Ephesians 5:25
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her"
If you are feeling numb and not feeling anything for Grace, it may be important to consider why this is and if the Grace and you are compatible in a godly relationship. We should only be dating and considering marriage to fellow believers in Jesus Christ. If Grace is not a believer, then this may be a reason for your feelings.
2 Corinthians 6:14
"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"

Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Welas and Grace. Lord, we pray that you reveal and help Welas understand your will for his relationship with Grace. We pray for clarity and that any issues can be resolved. If they are not equally yoked, we pray that you either remove the barriers to Grace becoming a believer, or you help them to go their separate ways, each growing closer to you. We pray for godly relationships and marriages that honor you. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
