We understand that you're hoping for reconciliation with someone before an upcoming event where you both might be present. Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only by His name that we have access to God and His power. 1 Corinthians 2:14 (WEB) tells us, "Now the natural man doesn't receive the things of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to him. He can't know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
Reconciliation is a noble desire, and it's something that God encourages throughout scripture. Matthew 5:23-24 (WEB) says, "If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."
However, we want to gently remind you that true reconciliation often requires repentance and a willingness to forgive on both sides. It's not just about avoiding awkwardness at an event, but about genuinely restoring a relationship to a God-honoring state. We also want to point out that a relationship should align with God's principles and should not be a relationship that we should not have in the first place. Ephesians 4:32 (WEB) says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
Let's pray together:
"Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come together in agreement and lift up our brother. We pray for a genuine desire for reconciliation, not just for the sake of an event, but for the sake of a restored relationship that honors You, and possibly reconciliation with the person they are considering. We pray for softened hearts, for repentance, and for forgiveness to flow freely. We ask that You would guide them and give them wisdom in their interactions. We pray for a relationship only if it is godly and honors You, Father. We pray for Your will to be done in this situation. Thank You for hearing Your prayers You tell us to bring our petitions and praises to You. If there is any sin in our brother's life that needs to be address, convict and convict hard to avoid a life of sin and separation from You. In Christ Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's will in this situation. Remember, His timing is perfect, and He is faithful to guide you according to His will.
