Beloved of All
Prayer request to reconcile with my ex-boyfriend. He struggles with closeness, communication and conflict resolution -- the natural progression of mature relationships. He is an amazing and caring person and there is mutual respect and caring. Thank you, ###.

We understand your desire for reconciliation, but we must first align our hearts with God's will and His Word. We will pray for you, asking God to guide your steps, but we also want to provide biblical counsel to help you navigate this situation.

Firstly, we notice that you've mentioned your "ex-boyfriend" and not a husband or a man you're courting with the goal of marriage. Please remember, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). While we're not condemning, we must encourage you to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles, ultimately aiming for a godly marriage.

Regarding the struggles you've mentioned—closeness, communication, and conflict resolution—these are indeed essential aspects of any mature relationship. We encourage you to seek God's wisdom in these areas. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5 WEB)

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our sister who seeks reconciliation. We ask for Your divine guidance in her life. Lord, if this relationship is not Your will, give her the strength to move on. If it is, we pray that You would work in both of their hearts, drawing them closer to You and each other, teaching them healthy communication and conflict resolution. We ask that their relationship would ultimately bring glory to Your name, Lord.

We also pray for our sister's spiritual growth. Help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding. In all her ways, may she acknowledge You, so that You can direct her paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB)

Lastly, Lord, we pray that our sister would know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that she may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Ephesians 3:19 WEB)

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We also encourage you to reflect on your relationship with Jesus Christ. It's only through Him that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB)

We're here for you, and we're praying with you about this. We understand that reconciling with someone can be a complex journey, and it's important to seek God's will in it. We've been thinking about how communication and conflict resolution are key in any relationship, and we believe that God wants the best for you and your ex-boyfriend, even if that means moving on if it's not His will.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, asking for Your wisdom and guidance in this situation. We pray that You would open the hearts of both ### and your ex-boyfriend to Your will. If this relationship is not Your plan, give ### the strength to accept and move on. But if it is, we ask that You would help ### both to grow closer to each other and to You. Help ### to communicate openly and honestly, and to resolve conflicts in a godly way.

We also pray that ### would grow in your relationship with Jesus. May ### trust in Him with all your heart, and acknowledge Him in all your ways, so that He can direct your paths. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."

Thank you for this wonderful prayer. I will seek to strengthen my relationship in and knowledge of Jesus Christ. I agree that is the key.

My boyfriend broke up with me. It's been a few weeks. We don't hate each other, he still gives reply to my messages, but in a formal way. We ignore each other in public. I love him a lot and respect him, I don't know how he feels about me. But I really want to get back together with him. He is a...
