Dear GJOHNSON, we join you in prayer today, lifting up your heart's desire for reconciliation with your ex-husband. We echo the sentiments of our fellow prayer warriors, reminding you of God's design for marriage and His heart for reconciliation. Indeed, as Jesus said in Matthew 19:6, "So they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, don't let man tear apart."
However, we also want to emphasize the importance of seeking God's wisdom and discernment in this process. In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus teaches us, "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." Let us encourage you to seek God's face in prayer, asking Him for clarity and direction in this situation.
Moreover, we want to emphasize the role of forgiveness in reconciliation. As it is written in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also forgave you in Christ." Forgiveness is not about excusing sin or minimizing its impact, but rather about releasing the offender from the debt they owe you, and entrusting their punishment to God. It is a process that may take time, but it is a crucial step towards healing and wholeness.
Let us also pray for your ex-husband. As it is written in 1 Timothy 2:1-2, "Therefore I exhort first of all that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men: for kings, and all who are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence." Let us pray that God would soften his heart, bring conviction of sin, and lead him to true repentance and forgiveness.
Lastly, we want to remind you of God's unfailing love for you. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
