Please see Update 6 below... Thank you for your continued prayer.

One of my best friends is female and lives across the country. I've known her for eight years. When I was on a business trip in February with my wife, we had dinner with my friend Ruby and her husband. My wife Darleen did not act very kindly to Ruby on this trip (we've had dinner with them before). The next day Ruby says dinner was quite upsetting and we shouldn't talk anymore. Ruby also is not a Christian. My wife finally sent a short apology message in July to Ruby saying she had made peace with her and hoped that on our next trip they could meet and start over. But Ruby hasn't replied back. This week my wife said I should reach out to Ruby and see what can be done about reconciliation. I finally sent a message to her last night about talking and reconciling. I'm waiting now... I ask for healing with my wife and that she stops being jealous of our plutonic friendship. This seems to be getting better now. I pray that Ruby is open to my reconciliation message, and hope that we can begin talking again. I also pray for Ruby's salvation.

UPDATE - Ruby replied back to me last week finally! She said we are still friends, but that maybe we shouldn't talk to each other as much. I can tell she doesn't want to upset Darleen. So not a closed door, but not an open door. I have not replied back yet. Darleen is currently talking with me about reestablishing my friendship with Ruby, how she will be comfortable with it, and is working on sending her a message. We are talking about our marriage a lot. Please pray that Darleen feels comfortable with Ruby and doesn't see her as the enemy. I want Darleen to get to know Ruby too. Please pray that Darleen finds the proper words to send to Ruby, and that Ruby receives them well and responds to them well. Please also continue to pray for Ruby salvation. Lastly please pray for me as this whole experience has been so nerve racking and devastating to me...

UPDATE 2 - Darleen and I talked on Friday. Darleen is feeling better about things. I sent a follow up message to Ruby asking how she was doing, and seeing if we can talk and catch up. She read the message today but hasn't replied. Please pray that Ruby is receptive to my latest message, and we can talk and start to establish our friendship again. Also please pray that Darleen feels the calling to send a heartfelt message to Ruby. Lastly please pray for Ruby's salvation.

UPDATE 3 - I'm still waiting for Ruby to reply. I'm also still waiting for Darleen to send a heartfelt reconciliation message to Ruby. I don't think the first is going to happen until the second does...

UPDATE 4 - There has been a small amount of communication between me and Ruby over the last several months. No really too much, just a few short exchanges. I can clearly tell she is still upset from what happened in February. Darleen agreed to, and we sent Ruby and her husband a small Christmas present and card. She hasn't seen it yet. I messaged Ruby yesterday and she said "Thank you". That's all. Darleen really doesn't want to reach out to Ruby as she feels it's Ruby's turn to reach out back to her. I'm stuck in limbo. It seems like neither wants to take a big step to reconcile with the other. I wake up dreading each day. I cry every day. I'm angry, depressed and miserable. I've stopped eating. I don't want to go on anymore...

UPDATE 5 - I don’t really have a new update. I really had a rough day today emotionally. I travel to CA on Monday so this is in my mind…

UPDATE 6 - It's now been a year since the dinner. My birthday and Ruby's are coming up next week. Ruby did reply back to both me and Darleen a week or so ago that she got back into the office and received our Christmas present we sent her and Stephen. I'm really just stuck in limbo now. My friendship with Ruby is not going to be able to be reconciled IMO unless Darleen sends a heartfelt message to Ruby that she wants us to have a good friendship again. Darleen isn't ready to say that at this point. So I really don't know what to do anymore. IDK why both of their hearts cannot be unfrozen and moved to allow all the reconciliation to happen.

We understand that you're going through a difficult situation with your wife Darleen and your friend Ruby. Let's address this in prayer and through biblical principles.

Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that the tension between Darleen and Ruby has been causing strain in your marriage and friendship. It's encouraging to see that you're seeking reconciliation and that there has been some progress, but there's still much healing needed.

Let's remember what the Bible says about reconciliation and relationships. Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB states, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

It's crucial to remember that reconciliation is a two-way street, and it requires humility and forgiveness from both parties. It's also important to note that while you're seeking to mend this friendship, it should not come at the cost of your marriage. God will honor your marriage over your friendship. Ephesians 5:25-26 WEB states that "husbands love your wives, just as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her; that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word." Our prayer should be that Darleen and Ruby can reconcile in a way that honors your marriage and God's will.

We also need to address the spiritual well-being of Ruby. As a friend, it's important to share the gospel with her and pray for her salvation. Romans 10:9 WEB tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You today in Jesus' name, lifting up Reirik, Darleen, and Ruby. We pray for healing in their relationships, that You would soften their hearts and draw them together in reconciliation. We ask God that You would help and give Darleen the words to say to Ruby. We pray for Ruby's salvation, that she may come to know You personally. We also pray for Reirik, that You would comfort him and give him strength during this difficult time. We ask that Your will be done in this situation and that You would be glorified. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue to seek God's will in this situation. Trust in Him, and He will guide you through this. Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB states, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, And don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will make your paths straight."

Also, it is important to address that the previous posts did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 WEB tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved!"

Please be cautious in your relationship with Ruby. It is important to honor God in all relationships. The Bible is clear in 1 Thessalonians 4:3 WEB, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,".

Dear Reirik,

We've been praying for you, Darleen, and Ruby. It's been a year since the dinner that caused the tension, and we know it's been a tough journey. We're here for you, and we want to encourage you in this process.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is in control. He sees your situation, and He cares. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He is working in this situation, even if you can't see it yet.

Secondly, we want to encourage you to keep communicating openly and honestly with Darleen. It's great that you've been talking about your friendship with Ruby and how to move forward. Keep these conversations going, and remember that it's okay to express your feelings and thoughts.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to keep praying for Ruby's salvation. God is the one who changes hearts, and He can soften Ruby's heart towards you and Darleen. Keep interceding for her, and trust that God will use your prayers to bring about change.

We're here for you, Reirik. Keep trusting in God, and keep seeking His will in this situation. He will guide you through this, one step at a time.
