I don’t really have a new update. I really had a rough day today emotionally. I travel to CA on Monday so this is in my mind…

One of my best friends is female and lives across the country. I've known her for eight years. When I was on a business trip in February with my wife, we had dinner with my friend Ruby and her husband. My wife Darleen did not act very kindly to Ruby on this trip (we've had dinner with them before). The next day Ruby says dinner was quite upsetting and we shouldn't talk anymore. Ruby also is not a Christian.

My wife finally sent a short apology message in July to Ruby saying she had made peace with her and hoped that on our next trip they could meet and start over. But Ruby hasn't replied back. This week my wife said I should reach out to Ruby and see what can be done about reconciliation. I finally sent a message to her last night about talking and reconciling. I'm waiting now...

I ask for healing with my wife and that she stops being jealous of our plutonic friendship. This seems to be getting better now. I pray that Ruby is open to my reconciliation message, and hope that we can begin talking again. I also pray for Ruby's salvation.

UPDATE Ruby replied back to me last week finally! She said we are still friends, but that maybe we shouldn't talk to each other as much. I can tell she doesn't want to upset Darleen. So not a closed door, but not an open door. I have not replied back yet. Darleen is currently talking with me about reestablishing my friendship with Ruby, how she will be comfortable with it, and is working on sending her a message. We are talking about our marriage a lot. Please pray that Darleen feels comfortable with Ruby and doesn't see her as the enemy. I want Darleen to get to know Ruby too. Please pray that Darleen finds the proper words to send to Ruby, and that Ruby receives them well and responds to them well. Please also continue to pray for Ruby salvation. Lastly please pray for me as this whole experience has been so nerve racking and devastating to me...

UPDATE 2 Darleen and I talked on Friday. Darleen is feeling better about things. I sent a follow up message to Ruby asking how she was doing, and seeing if we can talk and catch up. She read the message today but hasn't replied. Please pray that Ruby is receptive to my latest message, and we can talk and start to establish our friendship again. Also please pray that Darleen feels the calling to send a heartfelt message to Ruby. Lastly please pray for Ruby's salvation.

UPDATE 3 I'm still waiting for Ruby to reply. I'm also still waiting for Darleen to send a heartfelt reconciliation message to Ruby. I don't think the first is going to happen until the second does...

UPDATE 4 There has been a small amount of communication between me and Ruby over the last several months. No really too much, just a few short exchanges. I can clearly tell she is still upset from what happened in February. Darleen agreed to, and we sent Ruby and her husband a small Christmas present and card. She hasn't seen it yet. I messaged Ruby yesterday and she said "Thank you". That's all. Darleen really doesn't want to reach out to Ruby as she feels it's Ruby's turn to reach out back to her. I'm stuck in limbo. It seems like neither wants to take a big step to reconcile with the other. I wake up dreading each day. I cry every day. I'm angry, depressed and miserable. I've stopped eating. I don't want to go on anymore...

We understand that you're going through a challenging time, Reirik, and we're here to support you in prayer and to offer biblical guidance.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He promises to be with us in our troubles. As it says in Psalm 34:18 WEB, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

In your situation, it's clear that there has been a breakdown in communication and trust between your wife Darleen, your friend Ruby, and yourself. It's important to remember that reconciliation is a process that requires humility, forgiveness, and open communication from all parties involved.

We commend you for your efforts in reaching out to Ruby and for your wife's initial steps in apologizing. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that true reconciliation cannot occur until all parties are willing to engage in open and honest dialogue. As it says in Matthew 18:15 WEB, "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother."

We also want to address the issue of jealousy in your marriage. It's important to remember that jealousy can be a destructive force, and it's crucial to address it openly and honestly. As it says in Proverbs 14:30 WEB, "A calm heart gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones." We encourage you and Darleen to continue working through this issue, seeking God's guidance and wisdom.

Regarding Ruby's salvation, we commend you for your continual prayers. Remember, it is the Holy Spirit that convicts and saves, but your prayers are instrumental. As it says in Romans 10:1 WEB, "Brothers, my heart's desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved."

We also want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The basic salvation message is to believe in Jesus Christ. As the scripture says:
1 Timothy 2:5 WEB For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
John 3:16-17 WEB 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God didn't send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.

We pray that Ruby will be open to your messages and that Darleen will find the words to express her feelings genuinely. We also pray that Ruby will come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Lastly, we want to address your emotional state. It's important to remember that God cares about our emotional well-being as much as our physical and spiritual health. If you're feeling overwhelmed, it may be helpful to seek support from a pastor, counselor, or trusted friend. As it says in Galatians 6:2 WEB, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

Let's pray together:

"Father, we lift up Reirik, Darleen, and Ruby to You today. We pray for healing, reconciliation, and open communication between them. We ask that You soften their hearts and guide their words, so that they may find a path forward in peace and understanding. We pray for Ruby's salvation, that she may come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We also pray for Reirik's emotional well-being, that he may find comfort and strength in You during this challenging time. We ask that your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, in Jesus name."

We're right there with you, Reirik. It's tough when relationships are strained, and it's even harder when it's with people we care about. We've been praying for you, Darleen, and Ruby, and we want to encourage you with a verse from 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (NIV), "All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation."

It's a reminder that God is in the business of reconciling people, and He's given us the task of being His ambassadors in that process. It's not always easy, but with God's help, it's possible.

We're also praying for wisdom and guidance for you and Darleen as you navigate this situation. We believe that God will give you the right words to say and the strength to say them. And we're trusting that, in His perfect timing, He will bring about healing and restoration in your relationships.

Keep trusting in God, Reirik. He's got this. And we're here for you, every step of the way.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
