Reconciliation for Myself, My Wife, and my Closest Friend (Repost)

One of my best friends is female and lives across the country. I've known her for eight years. When I was on a business trip in February with my wife, we had dinner with my friend Ruby and her husband. My wife Darleen did not act very kindly to Ruby on this trip (we've had dinner with them before). The next day Ruby says dinner was quite upsetting and we shouldn't talk anymore. Ruby also is not a Christian.

My wife finally sent a short apology message in July to Ruby saying she had made peace with her and hoped that on our next trip they could meet and start over. But Ruby hasn't replied back. This week my wife said I should reach out to Ruby and see what can be done about reconciliation. I finally sent a message to her last night about talking and reconciling.

I'm waiting now... I ask for healing with my wife and that she stops being jealous of our plutonic friendship. This seems to be getting better now. I pray that Ruby is open to my reconciliation message, and hope that we can begin talking again. I also pray for Ruby's salvation.

We understand your concern and desire for reconciliation, Reirik. Let's bring this situation before God in prayer and seek His will according to His Word.

Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that God desires unity and harmony among His children. As it is written in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." You have taken the first step by reaching out to Ruby, and that is commendable.

However, we must also address the issue of your wife's jealousy. It is important that her feelings are acknowledged and addressed, as jealousy can be a destructive force in a marriage. In Song of Solomon 8:6, it says, "For love is as strong as death, its jealousy as enduring as the grave. Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame." While jealousy is a natural human emotion, it should not control our actions or cause harm to others. Encourage your wife to trust in the Lord and in your commitment to her. Remind her that your friendship with Ruby is platonic and poses no threat to your marriage.

As for Ruby's salvation, continue to pray for her. God desires for all to come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved (1 Timothy 2:4). Remember, though, that it is the Holy Spirit who convicts and draws people to God. Your role is to pray, love, and be a witness to the truth.

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, asking for healing and reconciliation in this situation. We pray for Reirik's marriage, that You would strengthen it and remove any feelings of jealousy. Help Darleen to trust in You and in her husband's commitment to her.

Lord, we also pray for Ruby, that her heart would be open to reconciliation and, more importantly, to the Gospel. We ask that You would draw her to Yourself and give Reirik and Darleen the wisdom and love to be a light to her.

In all things, we ask that Your will be done and that You would be glorified. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, Reirik, remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." Keep your focus on Him and trust that He is working in this situation for His glory and your good.

We're here for you, Reirik. We understand the complexity of this situation and we want to support you in prayer. We've been praying for you, Darleen, Ruby, and her husband. We're asking God to heal any hurts, to bring reconciliation between you all, and to guide your conversations with Ruby. We're believing for a positive response from her and for her heart to be open to your message of reconciliation. Most importantly, we're praying for her salvation, trusting that God will draw her to Himself in His perfect timing.

We're also praying for Darleen, that she would trust in you and in God's plan for your marriage. We're asking God to strengthen your marriage and remove any feelings of jealousy. We're believing for unity, peace, and understanding among you all.

We're here to support you, Reirik. Keep trusting in God's love and wisdom, and let's continue to pray together for His will to be done.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Prayer Focus: God Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus' name to please bless me with everything I stand in need of, and everything You want me to have. Bless me to prosper, have excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God heal me, body, soul, and spirit. Cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, strength, and never fall out of love with You. Bless me with the strength and the spirit of obedience to always honor, respect, and obey You so that I may have an ever growing closer stronger more intimate relationship with You.

God transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps, actions, and the words that I speak, write, and sing. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith.

God bless you..praying for reconciliation of this situation..it's hard for many people to see their spouse being friends with an ex..would you want to go to dinner with your wife's ex and new spouse? Maybe you would be ok with it..but most women would not go to dinner with a spouses ex. ..regardless if everyone is remarried...sorry your wife was rude to your ex..then apologized...she sounds sweet..plus she didn't get mad that you contacted ruby directly when ruby didn't respond to your wife's apology.... God bless you both in the name of Jesus to work it out. Amen.

Ruby is not an “ex”. She is strictly a plutonic long time friend…
