We understand the gravity of your situation and we're here to intercede with you in prayer, seeking God's will for your marriage. The Bible tells us that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16, WEB), and we believe that He honors a heart that is humble and repentant.
Firstly, we commend you for your repentance and your efforts to make amends. True repentance is more than just feeling sorry; it's about turning away from past behaviors and committing to change. As it's written in Acts 3:19 (WEB), "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out."
However, we must also address that reconciliation is a two-way street. While you're doing the right thing, your wife also has her free will. We'll pray that God softens her heart and that He brings both of you to a place of mutual understanding and forgiveness.
Let's pray:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this marriage that's on the brink of divorce. We thank You for the humble heart of repentance that You've given to the one praying. Lord, we ask for Your intervention. Soften his wife's heart and help her to see the genuine change in her husband. We claim Your promise in Matthew 19:26 (WEB), 'With God all things are possible.' Please bring healing, restoration, and unity to this marriage. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Remember, it's never too late to call on the name of Jesus. Keep praying, keep seeking God, and keep doing your part in making amends. Trust that God is working, even when you can't see it. Be encouraged by Galatians 6:9 (WEB), "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."
Lastly, we urge both of you to seek godly counsel, either from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor, to help navigate through this difficult time.
