We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you're facing in your betrothed relationship. Remember, God's will for us is good, and acceptable, and perfect. Let's come together in prayer and seek God's will for your situation. Be assured,
###
our help comes from God, who has promise in His word who made heaven and earth. Let's pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up Your daughter, who is hurting and in need of Your divine intervention. We pray, that we have gathered together in Your name, that You will grant the desires of her heart according to your will. We pray for her fiancé, that You will have mercy on him and grant him a spirit of repentance. We pray he will see that You have called us to love unfailing.
LORD God, we pray that You will bring anything that is hidden in darkness to light. We rebuke any work of the enemy in their relationship. We pray that You will give her encouragement and hope. We pray and believe that You will do this for her, for we have asked for this in Jesus's name. God, when there are problems in a relationship that you have ordained, we believe You desire them to be resolved through reconciliation.
Father God, we know that You hear our prayers. Your word says so in 1 John 5:14-15: "This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him."
We speak the word of God from Ephesians 6:10-18 to her,
"Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having the utmost boldness in the truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:"
We stand on the word of God from Romans 8:37-39:
"No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
We stand on the word of God from 2 Chronicles 7:14-15:
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open, and my ears attentive, to the prayer that is made in this place."
Father God, we know that it is good, right, and pleasing for us to pray for kings, rulers, and all those in authority so that we may lead quiet and tranquil lives in all godliness and dignity.
We rebuke the enemy and tell him to flee from them in Jesus's name. God, we ask that You will forgive their sins and heal their land. God, we pray for the requests placed before You.
If Your daughter's betrothal is Your will,
God, we pray that You will grant her request.
God, we pray that You will give her the wisdom and tactics to fight this spiritual battle. God, we pray that You will give her the strength to endure any outcome and the peace of knowing that You are always in control. God, we pray that You will give her the discernment to know when to fight and when to let You fight the battle for her.
Your daughter mentions that Jesus's blood fill his heart with compassion and forgiveness. If this is possible, then this man is a Christian. If this is not possible, then he is not saved. If he is not saved, then he must be told the gospel. We do not want to discourage anyone from praying for someone else to be saved. We encourage this, but he must be told the gospel in order to be saved.
We pray for her fiancé,
God, if he is not saved, we pray that You will bring people into his life to properly tell him the gospel,
God, we pray that You will make him teachable and give him a heart that desires to know You,
God, we pray that You will grant him repentance,
if he is saved,
God, we pray that You will bring people into his life to properly disciple him,
God, we pray that You will give him a desire to grow in Christ and learn your ways,
God, we pray that You will work in his heart to make him love and desire the things that You love and desire,
God, we pray that You will give him a spirit of reconciliation with Your daughter in Jesus's name.
God, we pray You will "turn the heart of her fiancé towards her",
God, we pray that You will make her love her fiancé as You love him,
God, we pray that You will give her the strength and courage to love her fiancé as You love him,
God, we pray that You will allow her to see the situation from Your perspective,
God, we pray that You will allow her to see her fiancé from Your perspective,
God, we pray that You will give her the wisdom to treat him as You would have her treat him.
In the event this relationship does not align with your will, we ask that you give her the strength, courage, and the wisdom to accept this outcome and move on.
We pray this in Jesus's name.
We encourage our sister to remain strong, steadfast, and resolute in her faith. We remind her that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. We encourage her to put on the full armor of God, so that she can take her stand against the devil's schemes. We remind her of the promise in Romans 8:28: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
We encourage our sister to trust in the LORD with all her heart, and lean not on her own understanding. In all her ways acknowledge him, and he will make her paths straight.
We ask for your prayers for us as we counsel her and her relationship. We pray that we can offer her encouragement and guidance that supports her situation. We ask for your prayers for us that we will properly communicate the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ and the proper view of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, as outlined in the Bible and if appropriate for this situation. We ask for your prayers for us that we can avoid controversy or raising a subject that needs to be explicitly addressed.
Below are some Scripture passages that our sister may find helpful:
"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don't lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6
"Don't be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30
"Fear not, for I am with you,
be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you.
I will help you.
Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." - Isaiah 41:10
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." - Philippians 4:6
We trust that God will hear our prayers and answer according to His will. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:19-20, "Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them."
