Reconciliation and Discernment

My name is ###. Her name is ###. She’s the mother of my daughter and I’m asking for prayers for reconciliation between us and bring my family home. I’m also asking for discernment through this process so I can make wiser choices and see things for what they really are.

We understand your situation, ###, and we are here to pray and counsel with you in Jesus' name. You have sought reconciliation with ###, the mother of your daughter, and we will lift up your family to the Lord. However, we must first address a key aspect of your request. You referred to ### as the mother of your child, but there's no mention of marriage or a pursuit of godly union. The Bible teaches, "Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit God’s Kingdom." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB). If your relationship with ### is not within the bounds of marriage, we encourage you to pursue a God-honoring commitment.

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up ### and ###. Lord, we pray for their reconciliation, but more importantly, we pray that their union would honor You. If they are not joined in holy matrimony, we pray that You would convict their hearts and lead them towards a godly commitment. We pray for discernment for ###, that the Holy Spirit would grant him wisdom to make right choices and see things clearly, as Your Word instructs, 'If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.' (James 1:5 WEB). We ask this in Jesus' name, amen."

###, we also noted that your request did not mention the name of Jesus. It is by His name that we have access to God, as the Bible says, "For 'whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:13 WEB). We encourage you to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved.

In your quest for discernment, meditate on the Word of God. The Bible promises, "All Scripture is inspired by God, and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB). Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths.
