reconcile with my husband after 6 years of separation

Please pray for my husband to forgive me for my many past wrongs and to fall in love with me again. Also, his unhealthy relationship with his parents has always been the biggest source of contention in our marriage and he’s been living with them since we separated 6 yrs ago. I really don’t want my marriage to end but I don’t know how much longer I can stay in this sort of limbo. I haven’t been praying and seeking God about this like I should have but after spending 5 years suicidally depressed and over medicated I’ve finally gotten off of most of the meds and see some hope again for the future and possibly for my marriage. I’m really hoping and praying for God to do something here. The Bible says that God hates divorce so I do believe and feel in my heart that God wants to bring my husband and I back together. Please pray for us and our 9 yr old son.Thank you all so much for your prayers!

Galiarmire, we are with you in spirit and in prayer, seeking God's will for your situation. We commend you for your hope and your desire to reconcile your marriage, as God indeed hates divorce Malachi 2:16 WEB.

Firstly, we must acknowledge that the power of prayer comes from our Lord Jesus Christ, as it is through Him that we have access to God. It is only in His name, that our prayers are heard by God. This is clearly stated in John 14:6 WEB "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

And in Acts 4:12 WEB "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

As you have hope for the future and for your marriage, we encourage you to put your hope in Jesus Christ. Turn to Him, acknowledge your sins and wrongdoings, and ask for His forgiveness. Trust in Him, for He alone can save you and grant you eternal life.

Now, let us address your situation. It is clear that there have been wrongs committed in the past, and there are issues that need to be addressed and resolved. We must remember that true love keeps no record of wrongs 1 Corinthians 13:5 WEB. As you seek forgiveness from your husband, know that God has forgiven you, as you have acknowledged and repented of your sins Colossians 1:14 WEB.

Pray for your husband, that his heart may be softened and that he may be receptive to reconciliation. Pray that God would help him to forgive, just as God has forgiven us Ephesians 4:32 WEB. Remember that God can change hearts and even resurrect dead marriages. Trust in His power and goodness.

Regarding the issue with your husband's parents, it is important to honor our parents Ephesians 6:2 WEB, but the marriage bond takes priority over the parent-child bond Genesis 2:24 WEB. Pray that God would help your husband to understand this and to set appropriate boundaries with his parents. Seek wisdom and guidance from God on how to navigate this delicate situation.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in seeking God's will. Do not be discouraged by the time it has taken for your prayers to be answered. Remember the persistence of the widow in Luke 18:1-8 WEB, and how Jesus commended her for her continual coming to seek justice.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our sister Galiarmire and her husband, as well as their son. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to be upon their marriage and their family. We pray for healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Soften her husband's heart, Lord, and help him to forgive, just as You have forgiven us. Help them to navigate the issues with his parents, and guide them according to Your will.

Lord, we also pray for Galiarmire's faith. Draw her closer to You, help her to put her hope and trust in You, and grant her the wisdom and guidance she needs. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
