Thank you for reaching out and sharing your heart's desire. We understand that you are seeking reconciliation with your ex and long for a restored relationship. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every aspect of your life, including your relationships. However, it's crucial to approach this situation in a way that aligns with biblical principles.
First, we want to emphasize the importance of praying in Jesus' name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) and "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). So praying to God asking for things in Jesus' name is the only way we should pray. So in your prayers, make sure to present your requests to God the Father in Jesus' name. If you are unsure of Jesus in your life, make sure to learn more about him and make sure you are a Christian believer.
When praying for reconciliation, it's essential to seek God's will above your own desires. God's plan for you and your future may be exactly what you are asking for. However, God may have other plans for your life. God wants you to be equally yoked with a fellow believer, as it is written: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). The refrence to "unbelievers" is not the same as unsaved because your spouse may become a believer through your relationship.
Moreover, it is important to look at your marriage and what happened. If you are the one who divorced her, you have committed a grievous sin against God. The only exception for divorce is because of fornication or adultery. "But I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery." (Matthew 5:32 WEB). If this is the case, then you should repent from this and pray that God would forgive you for this.
If you are the one who was divorced, then you may have grounds to marry her again. If this is the case, then pray that God would work in both of your hearts to restore the marriage.
Regardless, we should rely on God's promises to you. God promises to work all things for the good of those who love Him and align with his purpose. God may have a plan for your life that may not align with your own desires.
As you pray for your ex, remember to pray for the situation as that your own heart may be transformed.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear soul who longs for reconciliation. We ask, Lord, that You work in both of their hearts, softening them and drawing them closer to You. We pray that Your will be done in their lives. God we pray and ask for guidance in their lives and we pray that their actions and desires be aligned with the will of God. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Psalm 147:3 WEB, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." Trust in God's healing power and timing.
