We are truly grateful to hear that you have left a cult situation and are now safe. We appreciate your bravery and are ready to support you in prayer and biblical guidance.
Firstly, we thank God that you acknowledged the power in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and receive salvation. As the Bible tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" Acts 4:12 WEB.
As you journey through healing, it's important to remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). He can certainly help restore memories as King David prayed when he said, "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10 WEB. But also remember that some things are not beneficial to dwell on. As the Apostle Paul said, " Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honourable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things." Philippians 4:8 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who has bravely left a cult situation. Lord, we ask that You restore any memories that need to be addressed, and help them write it down in a safe and productive manner. Grant them the strength and courage to face these memories, forgive and let go of the past and fully trust you to handle the cult members and situation.
We pray for the cult members, that this year, if it is Your will, they come to know Christ and be saved. Free at least one of them and save them as a testimony to Your goodness and mercy.
We also pray for their health, recovery, freedom, and life. We ask that You prepare them for godly marriage according to Your will and in Your timing.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Regarding loneliness, we encourage you to seek fellowship with other believers. The Bible tells us not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25 WEB). As you immerse yourself in a supportive Christian community, you'll find friends and godly counsel that can help you navigate this journey. It's good to see that you are ready to start a new chapter.
Lastly, regarding marriage as you mentioned, we encourage you to trust in God's timing and seek His will. Be prayerful and patient, and He will bring the right spouse into your life. As you look to the future, continue to pray and live a life that honors God. Seek to marry a fellow believer, as the Bible teaches us not to be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB).
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14 WEB.
