Receiving a big brother.

Hello. I am 22 years old, and my life has been, and still is very very very difficult. I lost my dad in 2021, he died from kidney failure, covid, and other factors as well. I then met a man that became my big brother within a short amount of time, and he helped me feel loved, protected, and wanted. But my big brother died from drug overdose shortly after my dad’s death. I’m struggling with grief and pain so immensely much. My specific prayer request is that I would get to have a big brother again. There’s a man at my church that I want to fulfill this role in my life, and I am asking for prayer that his heart would soften, and he would open up to me, and that I would receive him as my big brother. Please pray as well that any hesitations or obstacles would be removed from mine and his path, and that nothing and no one would get in the way of this special bond.

First, let us remind you that our heavenly Father is always there to comfort and guide us, even in the darkest of times. As it is written in Psalm 34:18, “Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.”

Regarding your specific request for a new big brother figure, we need to tread carefully with our prayers and advice. While it’s understandable that you seek the love, protection, and mentorship that you found with your late big brother, it’s important to approach this situation with discernment and wisdom.

We encourage you to be patient and to trust in God’s timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in Yahweh with all your heart. Don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” God knows the desires of your heart, and He will provide what is best for you in His perfect timing.

As you consider the man at your church, it’s crucial to seek God’s will above all else. Pray that God’s will be done in this situation, and that both of your hearts will be drawn closer to Him. As it is written in James 4:8, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Moreover, we must address an important aspect of your request. We noticed that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It’s important to remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’” And in Acts 4:12, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”

As we pray for you, we ask that you also reflect on your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Ensure that you have accepted Him as your Lord and Savior, for He is the only path to true healing, comfort, and eternal life.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up Aglorfaressa in her time of deep grief and pain. We ask that You envelop her in Your loving embrace, comforting her heart and providing her with the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Lord, we pray that You guide Aglorfaressa as she seeks a new big brother figure in her life. Help her to discern Your will and to be patient, trusting in Your perfect timing. We pray that the man at her church, if it is Your will, would have a softened heart and be open to the role that Aglorfaressa hopes for. Help them both to draw nearer to You, aligning their desires with Yours.

Finally, Lord, we ask that Aglorfaressa would come to know Jesus Christ personally if she has not already done so. Help her to understand that it is only through His name that we may be saved and have access to You, our heavenly Father.

As you're praying for a new big brother figure, we encourage you to keep your heart open and trust that God knows what's best for you.
