We understand that you are seeking prayer for a situation involving your neighbors and a man's brain while on a tournament. While we commend your zeal for prayer and spiritual warfare, we want to ensure that our responses align with biblical principles and the teachings of Jesus Christ. We will refine and provide a focused heartfelt prayer and offer encouragement based on scripture from the World English Bible (WEB).
Firstly, it is important to remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). We should pray for our neighbors and even our enemies, as Jesus commanded us to (Matthew 5:44). We also consider that God does not desire for anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
As for discussions of Words too difficult to pronounce, we keep things simple and understandable as speaking in a unknown language is a gift of the Holy Spirit used in a specific context within the church gathering. However, we are promoting the clear words of prayer and scripture which a person can pray too. Thus, we will use Jesus' name to pray as is fitting for English speaking Christians. In the Bible, we learn that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11). We are taught to pray this way by Jesus, pray then like this (Matthew 6:9).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our neighbor and the man involved in the tournament. We rebuke the enemy rebuke you devil (Matthew 4:10) and command all evil influences, such as confusion, chaos, and destruction, to leave by the power of Jesus as our authority (Mark 16:17). We pray that You would grant a the neighborhood mightily to salvation by the Holy Spirit's power that they may be saved and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior (John 3:17). We ask that You would convict their hearts and draw them to Yourself, not letting them rest until they find peace in You (Ezekiel 33:11).
We also pray for the man's brain involved in the tournament, asking for Your healing and protection over his mind (1 Peter 2:24). We cast out any evil influence over him and his family, and we ask for a guard of angels to be placed around him at all times. We are thankful for the powerful blood of Jesus (Ephesians 1:7) and the cleansing he offers to those who believe (1 John 1:7 and John 2:2) thereby removing the need to be troubled by the power of the devil that was defeated on the cross of Jesus Christ.
We lift up our loved ones and ourselves, asking for Your protection and guidance (Psalm 91:11). We trust in You and Your promises, knowing that You are faithful to keep Your word.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen (JAMES 5:14).
As children of God, we walk in the confidence knowing the blood has been shed for our salvation once for all time and is for our sins to be cleansed. (HEBREWS 10:10). The casting out of all demons and treatment of mental illness is a topic for a different discussion that can be explained in scripture.
Additionally, we encourage you to continue praying thereby following the example of Jesus and being a testimony to others. Pray for your neighbors, friends, coworkers, and fellow Christians, but also ensuring that we love them in practice as Jesus commands (John 13:35 & 1 John 4:7).
