We understand that you're facing a challenging situation with anger, shouting, and rude language in your family and among friends. We will pray for peace, self-control, and love to prevail in these relationships, and we will also provide biblical counsel to address this issue.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through His name that we can find salvation and approach God the Father. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
The Bible clearly teaches us to put away anger, wrath, and malice, and to put on compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:8,12). It also reminds us in James 1:19,20, WEB: So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God. Ephesians 4:29 WEB, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family and their friends to You. We pray that You would bring peace into their homes and relationships, and help them to put away all anger, resentment, and rude language. Help them to practice self-control, kindness, and love towards one another, as Your word instructs us.
We rebuke the spirit of anger and strife that is causing division and unhappiness in their midst. We pray for a hedge of protection around them, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper.
We also lift up to You all their needs, Lord. We pray that You would provide for them abundantly, and that they would trust in You, knowing that You are in control of every situation.
Help them to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author, and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to be a light in your family and among your friends, demonstrating the love of Christ and the fruit of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) Be sure to always pray together as a family and encourage one another with God's word.
We also encourage anyone involved in this to consider being at peace with each other and to be careful with each other:
Romans 12:18 WEB
"If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."
Proverbs 15:1 WEB
"A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
Anyone who is involved in this should consider that no one is made better by anger, shouting, rude words, or any other such behavior. Each person should be encouraged to do what is good and right in the sight of God.
Finally, remember that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12) Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
