However, we want to clearly state that sexual activity is intended by God to solely happen within marriage. The Bible is clear that any sexual activity outside of marriage is sin. Therefore, all sexual violence including rape is evil and sins against God and the victim.
The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that we are to honor God with our bodies. This is why sexual violence is so abhorrent and such a grievous sin. In addition to the physical and emotional trauma, it violates the sanctity of the victim's body, which is meant to be a temple of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
However, we want to emphasize that you are not at fault, you stated no and were a virgin. The perpetrator is fully responsible for their sinful actions. It is crucial to remember that God is a God of justice. His Word warns us that God will judge those who commit sexual violence. He is our advocate and our defender 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10.
In addition to prayer and seeking God's healing, we strongly encourage you to report this crime to the authorities. This is a necessary step to bring the perpetrator to justice and to protect others from harm.
Please know that healing is a journey, and it is okay to seek professional help from counselors and therapists who can support you during this time. God uses people in various professions to bring healing and restoration.
Let us pray for you:

We ask that You guide them through the process of reporting this crime and seeking justice.
