I'm makeing a so-called positive thinking CD that will reverse the lies I've believed in different areas of my life, and speak truth and direction. I've come to the part on prayer, and It's the hardest part. Why don't I pray enough? Do I believe my sin seperates me, or does Jesus even see my sin? Why doesn't Jesus seem more tangible and real--and closer when I pray? Why aren't they answered more? Also, why should I pray things through? Doesn't Jesus hear me just as much the first time? Pray that God will expose the lies and reveal clearly the truth to me about prayer, and show me what verses to include.

Wow you know what those are really, really good questions Dear one. We have a lot of people here that will probably be able to answer you with a much more theological explanation than I can give you but I am going to answer you from what I have learned to be true. 1) Praying. Well you know praying doesn't have to be a time you set apart to get down on your knees, that is good but, there is a verse that says "pray without ceasing" well have you tried just talking to God? You can just talk to him you don't have to ask him for anything or make a lovely petition to him you can just talk to him like you would a friend. He loves you and wants to hear what you have to say. He is interested in everything you do. Praying can be just talking to God reading his word and having a chat with him. If you read something that doesn't make sense to you, you can ask him to explain it, and you know what.. he will find a way to do that too. 2.) Jesus does see your sin and he loves you. To understand him and his love of you is to understand God the Father as well. Who loved you so much he could not bear to be separated from you. This is why he sent his Son, because our sin did separate us but through Jesus we have the right to become Sons and Daughters of God. Ask for forgiveness and he forgives you. Jesus is the sacrifice that atoned for our sin. Some times we sin and we need to ask for forgiveness and he always does. Once we repent our sins are forgotten. Now one thing I want you to know is that that is not a stamp to go ahead and do what you know you should not. But if you mess up and are sorry for it you will be forgiven. 3.) Feeling that Jesus is real is something you accept in your heart and you will see that he is as your relationship with him grows and that is a matter of being in the word, study, prayer and that talking to him thing I mentioned earlier, that will start to go both ways as you learn to be still and listen. (I don't know many people that actually hear him speak but some do) Usually it is a quiet still voice inside of you. And yes Jesus hears you before you think or say what you need. He knows you so well. Pray things through because sometimes we need to remember Gods word and sometimes he will impart his wisdom to us. If you stop and consider some things with God you will be less deceived as you learn to follow his ways. We need to remember that Gods ways are not like ours. You see he can see everything past, present, future, and just because it seems our prayers are not answered the way we want, is not because he isn't listening to us. He is! Sometimes what we think we want or need is not what is best for us. I promise you he is listening and he will always take care of you, just not always the way we think is best, but the way he knows is best. He is not every going to do anything that isn't good, because he can not it isn't his nature. He knows you better than you know yourself and he always wants what is best for you. Trust that, you will have trouble but he will be with you. Developing a relationship with God takes a little time. I don't think you will ever stop growing and he will just reveal things to you in his word as you draw near to him. You will change and become better and better and you will be able to say you know him. Dear Child I can tell you that God loves you and is well pleased that you ponder these things. Father please direct this child impart your wisdom and guide this precious soul as they seek you. I ask these things for your glory in Jesus name.

God loves you very, very much! Take time and read his word and he will help you and show himself to you. That is the reason all the people that visit this site love God so much. Big Hugs!
