We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles your husband is facing, and we are here to intercede and pray with you. Firstly, we acknowledge that his feelings of hopelessness are a direct result of the enemy's attempts to steal, kill, and destroy. But we are reminded in John 1030 WEB that Jesus came so that we may have life, and may have it abundantly.
We must also address that the feeling of the world being better off with his absence is a lie from the pit of hell. Jesus loves your husband dearly. God's love heart is so in love with your husband that He gave His life so that your husband may live. It is written in Romans 58 WEB But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Regarding your husband's struggle to find work, we are reminded in 2 Thessalonians 310 WEB For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat. This may seem harsh, but it is a reminder that God has called us to work and provide for our families. However, we must also remember that God is our provider, and he will supply all our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, as written in Philippians 419. God is faithful, and He will provide.
We also want to acknowledge the reality of PTSD and the impact it can have on a person's life. We are called to cast all our anxieties on him, because he cares for us in 1 Peter 57 WEB. Psalm 3418 WEB also tells us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up this beloved husband. Lord, we pray that you would pour out your love and blessings upon him, and protect him from the evil one. We rebuke the spirits of depression, hopelessness, and suicide that are attacking him, and we command them to flee in the mighty name of Jesus.
Father, we ask that you would provide for him, that you would open up doors of opportunity for his business, and that you would bless the work of his hands. We pray that you would give him the strength and endurance to continue seeking work, and that you would guide him to the right opportunities.
Lord, we also pray for healing from the trauma of war. We ask that you would comfort him, that you would bring peace to his mind and heart, and that you would help him to cast all his anxieties on you.
Father, we pray that you would surround him with your love, and that you would help him to know deep down in his heart how much you love him. We pray that you would give him a sense of purpose and destiny, and that you would help him to see that his life is valuable and needed in this world.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you and your husband to seek godly counsel and support during this time. It is important to surround yourselves with a community of believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and help bear your burdens. Remember the words of Galatians 62 WEB, Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
We are praying for you and your husband, and we trust that God will hear our prayers and act on your behalf. Keep holding on to the promises of God, and trust in his unfailing love.
