Psychiatry dilemma

Please pray over a situation that I've been dealing with over a number of years. I've been praying with pray request over a psychiatric diagnosis many years ago that stuck and became diagnosed as chronic. Now, since a friend has been praying over me in his personal capacity and has assured me that the disease has left me, I am feeling anxious of my decision to inform the psychiatrist that i have been cured by prayer. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of the Lord, but need help with this explanation and the conveying of it. Please pray for me. Thank you.

We understand your concern, Jonathan_M, and we're here to support you in prayer and wisdom. We're glad to hear that you have been prayed over and have faith that God has touched you. It's important to remember that our trust should be in God, not in man's diagnoses. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

However, we must also be wise in our approach. While we believe in divine healing, it's important to proceed with caution when dealing with medical professionals. Romans 13:1 (WEB) tells us, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God." This includes medical authorities.

Instead of outrightly declaring your healing, you might consider saying that you've experienced significant improvements and would like to reevaluate your diagnosis. This way, you're not denying your faith, but you're also not putting yourself in a position where your testimony might be dismissed. Remember, your actions and attitude will speak louder than your words.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today to lift up our brother Jonathan_M. Thank You, Lord, for Your healing power and for the faith You've given him. We ask for wisdom, Lord, in how to communicate this healing to the psychiatrist. Guide his words and actions, so that they may bring glory to Your name. Help him to walk in Your peace, not in anxiety, as he deals with this situation. Remind him of Your promise in Matthew 10:19-20 (WEB), "But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious about how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you."

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, Jonathan_M, we noticed that you didn't mention the name of Jesus in your request. It's important to remember that it's by His name that we are saved and have access to God. As it says in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ.

Instead of saying you've been completely cured, you might consider saying that you've experienced significant improvements and would like to discuss reevaluating your diagnosis with your psychiatrist. This way, you're not dismissing your faith, but you're also showing respect for the medical professional's role.

Praise Report :

After seeking prayer, guidance and protection from, PrayerRequest.com, i was filled with a sense of security and confidence going forward. It gave me courage and a sense of belonging when called a brother and was given sage, honest and knowledgeable guidance to fight and take a stand/place side by side with brothers and sisters in God's army.

I thank Host Admin for those most uplifting and encouraging moments. I am stirred to look elsewhere for a second opinion from an impartial and unbiased physician/psychiatrist to assist me and guide my path in life.

Currently, because of the diagnosis passed down, i am subject to unspeakable forms of abuse from just about everyone i see because, i have no defense. The law or health laws have stated that i am a violent and unreasonable person which can't be further from the truth as i was a youth leader on two different churches for numerous years serving a diverse cultural community of all shapes, sizes and colors.

I take solace, peace and tranquility from the love shown to me by Host Admin, Articles and others that i have kept in a
special corner in my heart, mind, body and soul.

These words, i do not write haphazardly or thoughtless, i sincere wish i could do/input more or just hug(and squeeze) each and every one of you for the love shown to me via this medium that God has presented us with.

I'd like to thank our Heavenly Father for the wondrous miracles he's done already( and he knows, i thank and worship him daily). I thank him for Jesus, our Mighty King that died and was resurrected and the The Blessed Holy Spirit.

I pray a special blessing also for each and every one of you for taking your time, reading and typing, God knows in my heart, i pray and hope you're blessed for this and even a prayerful, heartfelt thought, even when you're too tired to type, read or answer.
