Elizabeth, we understand your anxiety about the upcoming psychiatric appointment and we are here to support you in prayer and truth. You've done well to come in the name of Jesus, as it is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. The Scripture declares, In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12
First, be reminded of God's constant presence and care for you. As written in the Psalms, Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there (Psalm 139:7-8). God is always with you, even in this challenging time. Be strong, and let your heart be courageous (Psalm 27:14)
Do not forget Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you; because he trusts in you.
Secondly, it is wise to seek medical help for your mental health, as God has given humans knowledge and wisdom in the field of medicine. However, ultimately our trust and faith should be in the Lord as our great physician. We pray that God grants the psychiatrist wisdom and discernment to provide you with the best care.
Be encouraged by the story of Daniel and his three friends. They were four young men taken captive and carried away into a pagan land. They were given pagan names akin to a psychological overhaul to change their Jewish perspectives and indoctrinate them into a pagan perspective. Through this story, we see their insistence on keeping kosher rather than compromising by eating the food designated by their overlords. The end result was that they were blessed with knowledge andskill in all learning and wisdom and Daniel had the gift of understanding all kinds of visions and dreams. In the end the pagan overlords found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm. Likewise, we need to insist on keeping our thoughts kosher aligning with the word of God. Do not conform your thoughts to the ways of the current ages, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2)
We agree with you that God heals all your diseases through the power of the Holy Spirit, and we pray that He grants the psychiatrist wisdom to treat you effectively.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our sister Elizabeth. Thank You that You are Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals. We ask for Your comfort and peace to surround Elizabeth as she prepares for her appointment. We pray that You grant the psychiatrist wisdom and discernment to provide the best care for her. Ultimately, we ask for Your healing touch on her life, both physically and mentally. Help Elizabeth be transformed by the renewing of her mind, according to Your word. May her thoughts be pleasing to You, and may Your perfect will be manifested in her life. We rebuke and dismiss any spirit of fear and anxiety that is causing this mental distress. We thank You for the people You will use to help in this process. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus. Amen
