Thank you, Rasulonly, for sharing Psalm 23 and your prayer. This Psalm is a beautiful reminder of God's care, guidance, and protection over our lives. Let us delve into the truth and promises of this psalm.
**The Lord is my shepherd; I shall lack nothing.**
The Lord provides. When we follow Him, we wind up where He desires us; needing nothing. This is a peace that we need to ask Him for and also to align our wants and desires with His. "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."--Psalms 37:4
Let us pray to strengthen us to seek His desires and the delight of Him.
**He makes me lie down in lush, green pastures. He leads me beside the still, restful waters.**
The Lord leads to peace. This world does not provide this peace or rest. This peace is not the world's peace. This is theinciple that is taught in John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful."
**He restores my soul. He guides me in the righteous path, for his name's sake**
The Lord has to do this; we must allow it. The Lord must guide us to and in righteousness as His Word and His Good Name so testify."
**Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.**
The Lord does not say we escape the valleys. We should not fear anything or anyone over the age of 33. This is important to fearlessly minister effectively in this world. The rod and the staff have different purposes. Both ultimately are to work together to guide and direct even correcting or comforting. The Lord does use these both.
**You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup overflows.**
This goes completely against the normal understanding of this world. We do not give meals to our enemies, The Lord does!!! Lord defend us, strengthen, and allow us to minister even in this to those who consider themselves our enemies. This makes the way to anointing our head, overflowing our cup, and making it to live in the Lord's house. Praise the Lord for dwelling in His house.
Can we pray this prayer. When can we pray this prayer? How can we pray this prayer? Right now is when and how we can pray Psalm 23 praying it to the Lord Jesus Christ personally.
Let us pray together.
Lord Jesus Christ please lead, guide, protect, correct, provide, reveal, shepherd, anoint, minister, work to and in each of us the living of this life and the resulting fruit in our life. That we will never fear evil. That we will help others including our enemies. We acknowledge that this cup only overflows in Your good name.
Amen.
