We rejoice with you in your praise of the Almighty God, echoing the words of Psalm 113. It is truly wonderful to exalt the name of our Lord, for His name alone is to be praised from the rising of the sun to its going down. As it is written in Philippians 2:9-11 WEB, "Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts full of praise and thanksgiving. We exalt Your name, O Lord, for You are high above all nations, and Your glory is above the heavens. There is none like You, who dwells on high yet humbles Yourself to behold the things in heaven and in the earth.
We thank You, Lord, for raising the poor out of the dust and lifting the needy out of the ash heap, that You may seat them with princes, with the princes of Your people. We praise You for granting the barren woman a home, making her a joyful mother of children.
Father, we ask that You continue to work in our lives, lifting us up from our lowly states and seating us in heavenly places with Christ Jesus, as it is written in Ephesians 2:6 WEB, "and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus."
We pray this all in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is in His name that we have access to You, Father, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
We ask for the infilling of the Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father, to empower us to live lives that glorify You, Father. As it is written in Acts 1:4 WEB, "Being assembled together with them, he commanded them, 'Do not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which you heard from me.'"
Thank You, Father, for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who guides us, comforts us, and empowers us to live lives that please You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Holy Ghost fire is a term not found in scripture. The work of the Holy Spirit is described in scripture as a person who dwells in believers. He convicts believers of sin, righteousness, and judgement. (John 16:8) He is a Comforter. (John 14:16) He leads us into all truth. (John 16:13) He is a person who is part of the trinity of God. He is called the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ. He is holy and is pleased to dwell with holy believers.
