We join with you in lifting up this person you deeply care for, asking God for His protection and transformation in his life. It is encouraging to see your heartfelt concern and your faith in the power of prayer through Jesus Christ.
Firstly, we acknowledge your request for protection. We stand with you in prayer, asking God to safeguard this individual from all harm and danger. As it is written in Psalm 91:11-12 WEB: "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won't dash your foot against a stone."
We also pray for a change in his heart regarding his habit of drinking alcohol after work. We ask God to reveal Himself to him and to fill the void that he might be trying to fill with alcohol. May he find comfort and joy in the Lord instead. As it is written in Ephesians 5:18 WEB: "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."
While we pray for this person, we also want to encourage you in your walk with God. Remember that God is faithful, and He hears your prayers. Keep trusting in Him, and keep praying with faith and patience. As it is written in James 5:16 WEB: "Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
Lastly, we want to address the nature of your relationship. Since you mentioned that you are bound only through social contact, we encourage you to seek God's will in this relationship. If you are both believers in Christ and are considering a future together, we pray that God would guide you towards a godly marriage. If not, we pray that God would give you both clarity and direction in your lives. Guard him from all harm and danger, and turn his heart away from alcohol. Fill him with Your Spirit, and reveal Yourself to him. We also pray for our fellow believer, that You would strengthen their faith and give them patience and clarity in this situation. We ask all these things in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.

Help and strengthen me God to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.
