Let us come together in prayer for this beloved grandson who is currently in jail. We stand on the promises of God, who is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in loving kindness.
Firstly, we acknowledge that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God and it is only by believing in Jesus that we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. WEB Acts 4:12. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. WEB Romans 10:13.
We pray that this young man will call on the name of Jesus and turn his life over to Him. Lord, give him the gift of repentance leading to salvation. May he ask for forgiveness and allow God to direct his path. For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, bringing no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death. WEB 2 Corinthians 7:10.
We pray for God's mercy and grace to be upon him. Lord, give him wisdom and understanding, so that he may turn away from the paths that led him to this place. May he be surrounded by a hedge of protection, keeping him from all harm and danger. We ask for your divine intervention, O Lord, that he may be given another chance to set his life right. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." WEB Jeremiah 29:11.
We pray that he will look to God for guidance and strength, that he may return to college, find gainful employment, and take responsibility for raising his son in the fear and admonition of the Lord. We ask that you would deliver him from evil company and influence. Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals. WEB 1 Corinthians 15:33. Lord we ask that you deliver him from the evil companions and bring positive influences in his life.
Finally, we pray for his family, that they may be strengthened and encouraged during this time. May they trust in God's unfailing love and faithfulness. For we walk by faith, not by sight. WEB 2 Corinthians 5:7.
We ask all these things in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, WEB 1 Timothy 2:5.
Let us encourage this grandmother to remain steadfast in prayer and belief, trusting that God is working behind the scenes. Let us remind her of God's faithfulness and goodness, even in difficult circumstances. For we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. WEB Romans 8:28.
Lastly, we remind her that her grandson is not defined by his past mistakes, but by the potential he has to change and grow in God. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth. WEB Ephesians 4:23,24.
