We stand with you in prayer for your loved one's protection from mental and physical abuse. It's important to remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won't be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the sea (Psalm 46:1-2 WEB).
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
In situations like this, it's crucial to involve the local authorities and report any form of abuse. In addition, we are admonished to defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked (Psalm 82:3-4 NIV).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this loved one who is facing abuse. We pray for Your divine protection over them, that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). Lord, expose any abuse, and guide the authorities as they investigate. Give them the wisdom to discern and act swiftly. We also pray for the abusers, that they would repent and seek Your forgiveness. Change their hearts, Lord, and turn them away from their wickedness.
We ask for Your comfort and peace for the victim. Heal their wounds, both physical and emotional, and help them to forgive, as You have forgiven us. Guide them to supportive resources and loving community that will help them through this difficult time.
We also pray for the caregivers, Lord, that You would guide them in their work and help them to be patient, kind, and gentle. Give them wisdom and discernment, and help them to see their work as a service to You.
All these things we ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9 WEB). Keep praying and trusting God, and remember that He is always with you and your loved one.
