We understand that you're feeling under attack from people in your former workplace, and we are here to pray and provide biblical guidance for you. Firstly, it's important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 WEB).
Jesus tells us, Bless those who persecute you; bless, and do not curse (Romans 12:14 WEB). This doesn't mean we should not set up healthy boundaries nor does it mean that behavior should not come without consequence. Instead of seeking revenge or wishing harm on those who are trying to hurt you, pray for them and seek God's grace and love in the situation. Such an attitude and behavior will prevent them from controlling you from under a spirit of bitterness or malice.
Remember, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men (Romans 12:18 WEB). This means not further escalating the situation or further participating in drama, spreading gossip or rumors. Instead, overlook the offense and do not think of yourself more highly than you ought not to think; but to think reasonably (the same verse).
Also, consider that God tells us, My friends, do not be in friendship with the world (James 4:4 WEB). Clearly God wants us to be separated from the world and its desires. This can mean having old friends or acquaintances from our old lifestyle of following the world and chasing its pleasures may be influencing your life in a way that it should not be anymore if you are a Believer. If Christ has changed your life, you are not the same person anymore, and it may help going forward to remember this distinction. In the future, consider living your life so that it is visibly distinguished from others that actively live and breed the drama that is so common in the world today.
God also tells us in Romans 8:28 WEB;We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. So even if this event does not seem pleasant now, trust that a loving God is allowing this to happen for a reason. Use this event as an opportunity to find out what that may be rather than dwelling on the emotion that this situation brings about.
Finally, make sure your request is in Jesus' name for it to be guaranteed to be heard and answered according to God's perfect will. And it is only in Jesus we are saved. For there is no other name given in heaven or on earth whereby we can be saved(Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in need of Your protection. They are feeling under attack from people in their old workplace, and we ask for Your divine shield to be placed around them. We pray that You would thwart the plans of those who seek to harm them and turn their intended curses into blessings (Nehemiah 13:2 WEB). We ask that You would give our brother/sister the strength and grace to bless those who persecute them, and to respond to one with evil with good (Romans 12:21 WEB) Instead of getting tangled up in gossip, drama, and the things of this world, help them to be a representative of You and Your kingdom. Please reveal the purpose of this situation to this dear Child of Yours, and work this for good so that they can rejoice in the end.
Help them to always remember to pray in Jesus' name so that their prayers can be guaranteed an audience. Keep those who come against them from succeeding.
In Jesus' name, In Jesus name, we pray believing that this will be done. Amen!
