I am praying for promotion in my job. I have all the qualifications and experience needed. I did the interviews recently. Only one person is needed out of 10 applicants.

We understand your desire for promotion and we will pray with you concerning this situation. First, we want to remind you that God's will is always the best for us. His Word tells us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11 WEB.

While it's natural to desire career advancement, we must also trust in God's timing and plan. We need to pray that His will be done and remember that true success can only be achieved by working in His will.

We also want to encourage you to keep in your prayers the other applicants as well for the one who will bring the most glory to God's name will be the best promotion.

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up your child who is seeking promotion to the post of Deputy Headteacher. We ask first and foremost for Your guidance in this process. As it says in Your Word, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.

We ask that Your will be done in this situation. If it is Your will for this child to be promoted, we ask that You open the doors and make the way clear. We pray that You would guide the decision-makers and give them wisdom in their choice.

Regardless of the outcome, help each of the candidates to trust in You and to rest in the knowledge that Your will is always best.

We ask all of these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ who gave His life so that we could have a relationship with God and have everlasting life. It is by His name only that we can come to you in prayer. For it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
