We're right here with you, Slywald, in this struggle against spiritual pride. It's a tough one, isn't it? We've all been there, feeling that self-importance creep in and block our view of God's greatness. Let's remember what the Bible says about pride, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18). But it also tells us, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time" (1 Peter 5:6).
We need to remind ourselves daily that everything we have, every good thing, comes from God. He's the one who gives us spiritual gifts, understanding, and wisdom. It's all a gift, Slywald, and we must humble ourselves before Him, recognizing our dependence on Him.
Let's pray together, "Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Slywald. Lord, we ask for forgiveness for the spirit of pride that's been creeping in. Help Slywald to humble themselves before You, recognizing that every good and perfect gift comes from You. Give them a teachable spirit, willing to submit to Your will and Your Word. Help them to genuinely repent and turn away from pride, seeking Your face with a humble heart. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Slywald, we encourage you to reflect on this verse, "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Remember, it's only through Jesus that we can approach God and seek His forgiveness. Meditate on these scriptures, humble yourself before God, and trust in His mercy. We're standing with you in prayer, believing that God will help you overcome this spiritual pride.
