We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and hurt you are experiencing during this difficult time. We will stand with you in prayer and seek God's will together.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God the Father. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Divorce is a deeply painful experience, and it is not God's original design for marriage. In Malachi 2:16 WEB, we read: "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel..." However, we understand that there are circumstances where divorce may be necessary due to unrepentant adultery as mentioned in Matthew 5:32 or abandonment by an unbelieving spouse as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 7:15 WEB.
We pray that you will find comfort and strength in God during this time. Remember the words of Psalm 34:18 WEB: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister/brother in Christ who is going through a painful divorce. Lord, we pray for Your protection, peace, and justice in this situation. We ask that You would expose any evil doing and bring it to light. Help our sister/brother to keep their focus on You and managing their life in a way that honors You.
We pray for healing from the pain and hurt that has been caused, and we ask that You would guide them through this difficult time. We pray for godly wisdom for all parties involved, and we ask that Your will be done in this situation.
We also pray for the spouse who is not present, that they would come to repentance if they are not living according to Your will. We ask that You would soften their heart and draw them to Yourself.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
During this time, we encourage you to surround yourself with a supportive Christian community, to study God's Word, and to spend time in prayer. Remember that God is faithful and that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
As mentioned in Romans 8:28 WEB: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God can bring good even from this painful situation.
If there are any specific sins that have been committed in this situation, we encourage you to confess them to God and to repent. Remember that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, as it says in 1 John 1:9 WEB.
We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel and professional help if necessary. It is important to have wise and biblical advice during this time.
Finally, we want to remind you that God still has a plan and a purpose for your life. Trust in Him and His goodness, even in the midst of this storm.
