Sharelle, we understand your desire for love and companionship, and we will pray with you. However, we want to encourage you to seek a godly spouse, rather than just a partner, as marriage is a sacred covenant instituted by God himself. We also want to remind you and possibly discuss that real love is not just about finding someone who is proud to have you, scared to lose you, or appreciates and cares for you. True godly love is patient, kind, and selfless, as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB:
"Love is patient and kind. Love doesn't envy. Love doesn't do wrong, is not puffed up and doesn't behave inappropriately. Love doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, and doesn't take account of evil; but it rejoices with the truth and bears all things, believes all things, has hope for all things and remains in all things."
We also want to address the concerns about the post and make sure you are looking for someone to love you, the way Jesus loves you, therefore stay clear of fornication and relationships outside of marriage and sexual interactions that are not appropriate within the laws of God.
Furthermore, we want to encourage you to find the love for yourself and your children in Jesus Christ first. He is the source of true love and acceptance, Psalm 147:3, WEB says:
"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds".
When you find the right person, they will complement your faith and together you will glorify God, 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB says:
"Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"
Let us pray for you:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus to lift up Sharelle. We pray that you will guide her as she seeks a godly spouse who will love her and her children unconditionally, as you do. Help her to find fulfillment in your love first, and then to find a companion who will complement her faith, a marriage that will glorify God. We also pray that she will seek out the Lord Jesus Christ and look for a spouse that follows that same example. We rebuke any notions of unbiblical relationships or improper wants or desires so that Sharelle can possibly address these feelings if needed. We pray this in Jesus name"
