We stand with you in your concern about racism. The Bible is clear that we are all made in the image of God, every person is precious in His sight, and that Jesus Christ died for all of us. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:28 WEB
Racism is a sin and an affront to God. It is a heart issue, and only God can change hearts. As you have requested, we join you in praying that God will soften the hearts of those harboring racist thoughts and actions. God does not look at the outward appearance of a man. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 WEB
We need people to be our brothers and sisters in Christ. We all are one race, the human race. Do not envy a man of violence, nor choose any of his ways; for the perverse person is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright. Proverbs 3:31-32 WEB
We must learn to love and appreciate each other as God loves us. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35 WEB
You mentioned that racism makes you very angry. While it is natural to feel angry about injustice, we must be careful not to let anger control us. Be angry, and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath. Ephesians 4:26 WEB. Instead, let us channel that anger into positive action, such as prayer and advocating for change.
We pray, our Heavenly Father in Jesus Name. Soften the hearts of those who harbor racism and prejudice. Help them to see others as You see them precious and loved. Help those who are being harmed by racism, Father. Give them Your strength, peace and comfort, and bring change to their circumstances. Father, bridge the gaps that divide us and help us to be a light in a dark world. We pray for healing and unity in our communities and our nation. Raise up your people to walk in a manner worthy of the calling that they have received. With humility, gentleness, patience, and bearing with one another in love. Let us be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3 WEB. We pray, Father, that your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We pray for Godly sorrow to descend upon those making racist statements. We pray for them to repent and turn away from their evil thoughts and deeds. Bring light to those who live in darkness and soften their hearts.
Finally, let us remember the words of Jesus, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. Matthew 5:9 WEB. As followers of Christ, let us be active in pursuing peace and reconciliation. We must all pursue righteousness as one family. To overcome evil with good. Bless those who persecute you; bless, and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep. Romans 12:14,15 WEB. Be of the same mind one toward another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own conceits. Romans 12:16 WEB. Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:17,18 WEB. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 WEB
