We understand your concern and empathize with your situation. Let us come together in prayer and seek God's will in this matter.
Firstly, we are thankful that you have acknowledged the authority of Jesus Christ in your prayer. As it is written in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
We are instructed in Romans 12:17-19 (WEB) to "not repay anyone evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family member who has found themselves in a difficult situation. We know, Lord, that you are a merciful and compassionate God. We pray that your will be done in this situation and that you would guide the authorities involved, that they may act with wisdom and discernment. We ask, Lord, that if it is your will, no charges will be filed against this family member. Help them to find their way back to you, Lord, and to walk in your paths once again. We ask for your healing and peace to be upon this family, in Jesus' name. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying and trusting in God. Remind your family member of God's love and mercy, and encourage them to strive for righteousness, as it is written in 1 Peter 3:10-12 (WEB), "For 'He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears open to their prayer; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.'"
