We understand that you are seeking God's guidance regarding your responsibilities God, and we appreciate that you are praying in Jesus' name. This is vital, for as it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only by His name that we can be saved. Acts 4:12 NIV, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." We are continuing to pray with you in Jesus' name.
You mentioned that you are not in a marriage but are considering responsibilities that may be similar to those within a marriage. We encourage you to reflect on God's design for relationships. According to the Bible, marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in Matthew 19:5-6, "For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh. So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate."
If you are considering responsibilities that are typically associated with marriage outside of a marital commitment, we lovingly advise you to reconsider. It is important to honor God in all our relationships and to follow His design for them. In Ephesians 5:3, it says, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints." We encourage you to pursue purity and to seek God's will for your life in every decision you make.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your will for their life. We pray that You guide them in their decisions and help them to discern Your plan for their relationships. Give them the strength to follow Your ways and to honor You in all they do. Help them to understand the importance of marriage as a sacred commitment between a man and a woman, and guide them as they consider the responsibilities they should take on. We can only find salvation and access to God in Jesus Christ, so Lord help them understand this basic principal of our Christian faith.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
