We are truly concerned for your situation and we stand with you in prayer for your husband's deliverance and the salvation of your household. It is so important that we are in agreement on the power of Jesus to change lives and the importance of salvation.
Firstly, we must address the issue of anger, addiction, and alcoholism. We understand that these are serious struggles and can negatively impact a household. Firstly, we need to address that you do not mention an appeal to the name of Jesus in your request. It is only in that Mighty Name that we can approach the throne of Grace from Hebrews 4:16 WEB Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved:
Acts 4:12 WEB Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!
Firstly, let us not be afraid to confront this issue so we can start. We need to start our prayers for the power of Jesus to deliver us.
acted against the apostles and put them in public custody. We find hope in the power of Jesus to break the chains of addiction and transform hearts.
Romans 8:38-39 WEB For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
See, the powers that bind us to addictions are powers and principalities that are unseen but they are created. But, these words in Romans are very encouraging because not even these powerful foes can separate us from Jesus! With Jesus, there is freedom and healing. That is the promise! Also, let us be urged by Paul to be delivered of addiction which is wreaking havoc in the body:
Corinthians 6:15 WEB Know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ? shall I then take away the members of Christ, and make them members of a prostitute? God forbid.
and
Corinthians 6:19 WEB Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own. Let us all start with our lives and repent of turning our lives and bodies over to addiction, drugs, and being drunk:
Ephesians 5:18 WEB Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit.
The burden of carrying this by yourself must be overwhelming, but remember that you are not alone. God is with you, and we are here to support you in prayer as well to see the miracle of deliverance and healing. It may take your husband to concede that he needs help for him to accept deliverance but you keep drawing near to Jesus and come to Him with your requests. Also, reach out for council to those in your local church.
Psalms 55:22 WEB Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved.
Our prayer for you and your husband is this:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your intervention in Dupevan's husband's life and for the entire family. Lord, we know that no power of substance is more powerful than Your Holy Spirit and that Jesus came to break these chains of addiction. We ask that You deliver him from alcohol and the chains of smoking, which can damage their bodies, the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Father, we also pray for a change of heart. We pray that Your love and kindness will lead him to repentance and that he will turn away from anger and rage. We pray for an intervention and for the spirit of anger to be changed to a spirit of kindness and patience. We pray that their house will be filled with peace. We pray especially for a spirit of forgiveness and understanding and their home be filled with prayer and communion with you instead of the discord that Satan desires in place of Your Will.
We pray that Dupevan will be courageous to address the peril that they see in their lives and that they will make hard decisions when it should be apparent. We pray that they will come together to You in your word and through prayer as a couple.
Lord, we ask that You will soften his heart and the heart of his son and bring them to salvation that they will be saved through faith as is Your Will.
We claim your victory for their family.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Also, if you have not taken your life to your church we recommend you do so.
