We join you, Aile, in lifting up Glen to the Lord, praying for a divine turnaround in his life and your marriage. We stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for God's will to be done.
Firstly, we acknowledge that Jesus is the only way to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray and expect to see change. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
We pray that the Holy Spirit will convict Glen's heart and bring him to a place of repentance. We rebuke any lying spirit and command it to leave in Jesus' name. We pray Ephesians 4:25 WEB: "Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members one of another."
We remind Glen of his wedding vows made before God, and pray that the Lord will give him the strength and humility to uphold them. We pray to remove any third party influencing his life, since he cleaved to you and not to any other as set forth in Genesis 2:24 WEB; "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh."
We also know that pride is only warded off by humility. We pray that he humbles himself before God; that is also a message from and for you to hear as set forth in James 4:6 WEB: "But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." We pray that enough grace be sufficient and that the Holy Spirit gift Glen with that grace.
We pray that God will deliver Glen from evil, and that he will forgive those who have hurt him, just as Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:14-15 WEB: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
Finally, we pray that Glen will turn away from manipulative behavior, and that God will transform his heart and mind. We claim the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
Together, we stand with you in prayer, believing that God is working in Glen's life and your marriage. We encourage you to remain steadfast in faith and hope, trusting in God's promises. Continue to pray fervently for the Holy Spirit to soften Glen's heart, and remember that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much (James 5:16 WEB).
Please also remember to submit to the Holy Spirit and His gift of grace. You must continue to minister to Glen with grace. Also, remember the prayer of Jesus found in John 17:6-19 WEB: You have given them to me out of the world. They were not of the world, even as I am not of the world. . . They are not of the world even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in your truth: your word is truth. . . And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. Sanctification is the process of maintaining a relationship with God. It is not a work-based relationship, but a faith based relationship with Jesus Christ. We all must be sanctified; that is set apart. Continue to set yourself apart, Aile, so you can minister the Gospel to Glen with kindness and grace.
Lastly, consider your own sins if any and repent of them. Since you are praying for his sins but do not see your own then pray Psalm 139:23-24 WEB: Search me, God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way. If you see any wickedness in yourself repent of it so God may cleanse you of your sins as set forth in 1 John 1:9 WEB, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Nevertheless the answers to your prayers will be in God's will and not yours. Jesus prayed the night before His death, 42 saying, Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done Luke 22:42 WEB.
Jesus suffered that night and died the next day. God as He has planned will answer this prayer in the same fashion if He is willing. Remain steadfast in your belief in the trinity, God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit.
Remember to pray for Glen, in Jesus' name and how Jesus prayed. Jesus stated, "I do not pray for these alone, but for those also who believe in me through their word, John 17:20 WEB." You must continue to believe in the testimony of the Apostles of Jesus Christ. In doing so you are saved, "They (the Bereans) were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of the mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Many of them therefore believed; also of the Greek women of high status, as well as of men, a great multitude," Acts 17:11-12 WEB. You do not believe in Jesus by faith, but from the Apostles testifying of the words and actions of Jesus Christ. You examine their testimonies in Scripture so you believe their words so you can believe Jesus' works, and you are saved.
