Disciple of Prayer
Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus, I thank you so much for Cody and I lift him and our relationship up to you today. Thank you that although he still has not come home, you have given me so many signs that you are answering my prayers. Thank you that in the midst of all the anxiety, fear, sadness and distress, you give me peace and constant reassurance. I know that your answer to my prayers for Cody and our relationship isn't "No," it's "Wait." I know you are doing something, and I thank you for drawing yourself closer to me the more I pray and draw myself closer to you. Thank you that I can hear the gentle whisper of your voice. Thank you for teaching me patience, and reminding me not to give up, for "Love is patient. It does not demand its own way. It keeps no record of being wronged. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." (1 Corinthians 4-5, 7) Thank you for helping me to love Cody like Jesus does.
I pray that you will finish the work you started in Cody and create a new spirit within him. I know that Cody is suffering with shame and self-hatred at this time, and I ask that you give him your grace, peace and love, as you have for me, in Jesus' name. Draw yourself near to him. I know Cody is just like Thomas, and struggles to believe in the unseen. I know Cody wants to believe, and I know he believes in "something bigger than him," but he depends on having a personal experience with You in order to feel certain. Thomas said, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hands into his side, I will not believe" (John 20:25). I pray that as Jesus revealed Himself to Thomas, you will reveal yourself to Cody. Tell him about the plans you have for him; they are plans for good and not for disaster. To give him a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
You said, "I myself will search and find my sheep. I myself will tend my sheep and give them a place to lie down in peace. I will search for my lost ones who strayed away, and I will bring them home safely again." (Ezekiel 34:11, 15) I pray that you will make a way home for him and I thank you in advance, for this prayer is already answered. You will fence him in with thornbushes and block his wrong pathways with walls. (Hosea 2:6)
Lord, I know you have special plans with Cody and I surrender him to You to transform him into the man of God you want him to be. I surrender our relationship to You to transform it into a marriage that glorifies You. I know this is Your plan and I am so grateful for the blessings that are coming. Although the enemy's plans are to steal, kill and destroy, Your purpose is for us to live a rich and satisfying life (John 10:10).
I pray that you will continue to lead Cody away from temptation and deliver him from evil. Cover his spirit in the blood of Christ and flush out all that is not of You. I pray that you keep your hand on him and guide him off the pathway to death and onto the pathway to life.
Lord, You have given me authority "over all the power of the enemy" (Luke 10:19). By that authority given to me in Christ Jesus, I evict all unclean, evil and demonic spirits from Cody's body. I evict all lying spirits from Cody's mind. I proclaim that God has given Cody a sound and sober mind. He will no longer entertain confusion, but live in clarity. He will not be tormented with impure, evil, negative or sinful thoughts.
I proclaim that God has removed Cody's stony, stubborn heart and given him a tender, responsive heart. I proclaim that God has given Cody a new spirit, the Holy Spirit. (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
And lastly, I proclaim that Cody is shielded with the full armor of God: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:13-17)
In the Mighty Name of Jesus,
Amen
