Praying for a family friend

I have a friend her name is Shellie, I’ve known her for 10 years now and she’s a good person. Unfortunately she is going through a lot lately and it’s been stressing her out and just recently she’s has been told she might end up getting cancer, she had a doctors appointment telling her what kind of cancer and everything. Her son just lost his daughter to his ex girlfriend. Everything has just been crazy lately and I pray to God that everything turns out better for Shellie and her family. For her health and that her son will get his daughter back.

We are deeply moved by your concern for Shellie and her family, Amy96525. Let us come together and lift them up in prayer, seeking God's intervention in their lives.

Firstly, we want to assure you that God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Let us encourage Shellie to trust in the Lord with all her heart, and not to lean on her own understanding. In all her ways, she should acknowledge Him, and He will direct her paths (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).

Regarding her health, we pray, "Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we bring Shellie before You. We ask for Your healing touch on her body. If it is Your will, let this cup of cancer pass from her. Strengthen her physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Give her faith and hope as she faces this trial (Jeremiah 30:17 WEB)."

For her son, we pray, "Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in his life. We pray that You will soften the hearts of those involved and that You will bring reconciliation and restoration. We ask that You bring his daughter back into his life (Matthew 18:19 WEB)."

In all these things, let us remember that we do not have a High Priest who can't be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let Shellie and her family come boldly to the throne of grace, that they may receive mercy, and find grace to help them in their time of need (Hebrews 4:15-16 WEB).

We noticed that your prayer request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is important to remember that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, "For 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:13 WEB) Let us encourage Shellie and her family to put their trust in Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB).

Lastly, let us pray for Shellie's peace and comfort during this time. "Lord, we ask that You give Shellie Your peace that surpasses all understanding, which will guard her heart and her mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB)."
