We understand your concern and gratitude for your son, Dennis Lawrence. It's commendable that you're turning to prayer for his well-being and transformation. Let's pray and seek God's will together, in Jesus' name.
Firstly, we want to remind you of what the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB), "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, interceding for our brother, Dennis Lawrence. We are grateful that you are in his life, and we ask that you keep him safe and surround him with your holy angels while he is in jail. Lord, we know that no walls can keep out your presence and power.
We pray that Dennis may receive the help he needs to be transformed into the person you created him to be. We know that true change comes from your grace and the renewing of the mind, as Romans 12:2 tells us. We ask that you soften his heart, open his mind, and draw him closer to you during this time.
However, we would like to gently remind you, Valfyl, that while we can pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, praying to anyone else, including angels or non-living saints, is not biblical. As 1 Timothy 2:5 (WEB) states, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
In Jesus' name, we pray that Dennis will come to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior if he hasn't already, and that he will walk in newness of life. We claim the promise in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB), "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
Amen.
Stay strong in your faith, Valfyl, and continue to trust God for Dennis' journey. We encourage you to study and meditate on God's Word, seeking His will for both of your lives.
