We are truly sorry to hear about the severe pain that this person is experiencing due to arthritis. We stand with them against this pain and affliction. In times like these, we are reminded of the Apostle Paul's words in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 (WEB):
"...there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me, to keep me from being exalted above measure. Concerning this thing, I begged the Lord three times that it might depart from me. He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."
While we pray for healing, we also pray that God's grace would be sufficient for them, and that His power would be made perfect in their weakness. We pray that this trial would be an opportunity for them to experience God's strength and love in a deeper way. We encourage the one who requested the prayer to remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we are saved and have this access to God.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our fellow believer who is suffering from severe pain due to arthritis. We pray for Your healing touch upon their body. We ask our hearts to take a rest from the stress of the pain. We pray that You would give them the strength and grace to endure this trial, and that Your power would be made perfect in their weakness. Help them to trust in You completely. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We also encourage them to seek medical help and the support of fellow believers during this time. We pray that our Lord Jesus will guide their path toward the people and treatments that can best support them. We further pray that they would be reminded of the words of James 5:14-15 (WEB):
"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
We encourage them to reach out to their local church or Christian community for support and prayer during this time. Remember, it is through the name of Jesus that we can be saved and find the peace of God. Remain steadfast in faith and trust in the Lord.
